Watched a brilliant game this afternoon Newquay 2- Portheleven 2 , Newquay dominated the 1st half of this game an dfound themselves 2-0 down at half time both to errors the 1st a real mess up in the defence with Newquay goalie kicking the ball straight to a Porteleven palyer and no9 Joe Wright couldnt miss ,it wasnt long before it was 2-0 a definit pen scored ,Newquay got a pen and a brilliant Martyn Webster saved for Portleven .In the 2nd half Newquay came out looing like they ment business and Jack Bray Evans who wasnt having the best of games in the 1st half scored a tremendous goal Newquay continued to dominate and got a deserved equaliser not sure who got it think it could of been Bray Evans again or Alex Cole .I t looked like Newquays good work had all came to nothing when Port ,had another clear pen the ref played teh advantage at 1st but when the ball was cleared off the line by Jamieson the ref went back on his decision and gave the pen ,which was brilliantly saved by Newquay goalie Dan Peters . Really entertaining game and my man of the match goes to Newquay goalie Dan Peters and to Porteleven goalie Martyn Webster .Hard luck on the G losing only 1-0 at Liskeard maybe better things are around the corner for them only trouble is St Dennis and Sticker won as well . Looking forward to next weekends game at St Austell when Helston play there and i think this game will be the day Helston win the league but Saltash are scoring goals for fun. Well don Newquay great fight back and good luck to Portheleven for the rest of the season thought the ref an dhis assitants had good games 3 definit pens .Cant be any complaints about not being entertained today me and Smokie certainly was .

It's not.  It's a specific offence and can result in a 3 month prison sentence even if it's found on your person before it's sent off.  Fact sheet can be found here:   http://www.fsf.org.uk/assets/Smoke-Bombs-Flares-and-Fireworks-Factsheet-for-FSF.pdf

Incredible, let murderers and thugs go free, little wonder public have little confidence in the police!

Meanwhile let’s hear from people we’re at the Swpl matches today please?

Saltash unstoppable?

Sticker grab a late winner!

St Austell get one over rivals Bodmin!

Did Dobwalls dominate?

Lets talk football instead of all this unnecessary winding each other up!

I paid good money to comment on this forum and my comments are as valid as anyone else’s.

Good to hear the St.Blazey players reacting  by racing to the corner to confront these idiots to prove they were not genuine supporters-It will be shame if the CCFa take it out on the two clubs.

Also seen a photo of a make shift banner with obscenties hand written on them

Talking of football it was a good result for Falmouth who included three second team players           Will Harding-Harry McMellon and Sam Bromley who last played first team football for Town in season 2014/15 when WayneHuighes was manager

Scorers Luke Johnson 2-Luke Brabyn 2 and Martyn Duff

.

the first goal from Luke Johnson was Falmouth's  100th League/Cup this season and Luke Brabyn moved on to 49 for the club.

Well these lads are only at the game because they are friends with the management who all drink at the same pub.  This is the second incident involving Blazey fans this season.  I think it’s about time the club are punished.

Falmouth Town 5, St Blazey 0

Well, I can't complain about VFM today! Though, the 1st half was a bit scrappy and boring ((1 - 0 (8) Johnson, (19) equaliser disallowed for something, 2 - 0 (36) Brabyn allowed in to score)) but the second half was livened up off the pitch by the flare incident. Was it a brave Blazey fan venturing up the F-troop end to let it off, was it a naughty F-trooper letting off a green flare to get Blazey into trouble, was it a wandering Argyle fan with a spare green flare? Answers on a post-card. We'll know soon enough. It didn't need a whole Paddy Wagon plus jam sandwich: I thought the police were low on manpower? Blazey's No 2 was over the fence in a flash to hold the perpetrator and well done him. Whilst I think the odd flare adds atmosphere, I do know the law in this country and my thinking it unnecessary is irrelevant. From the point of view of football in the UK the No 2 was spot on. Technically he could have been given a red card but the ref applied law 13 and common sense prevailed - a rare enough occurrence in Britain today! The game went on, Falmouth scored again on 84 having been denied on 54 (goal chalked off for a push), 57 (point blank save by keper though the shot was straight at him) and 63 (great save by Blazey 'keeper). The 3rd goal ended a sweeping movement up the left followed by a cross-field pass. Great goal. 4 - 0 on 86 after a ball was played forward with two Falmouth players in offside positions only to realise that, letting a lad run in from an onside position to score. Sort of goal that still has fans who don't understand the modern offside law seething! 5 - 0 on 90+7 after a lad beat the offside and chipped the advancing 'keeper. Lots of added on time mainly due to the flare incident.

Lovely to see Tommy Matthews and be educated about this playing-from-the-back stuff, which bores me rigid but I do understand the philosophy behind it. Trouble is, it is okay for Premiership sides but at local level the skill levels aren't what they should be to make it a safe tactic! Some framiliar faces from St Blazey, too, from my Radio Cornwall days. Nice to hear they still provide buttered saffron cake for club officials at half-time. I used to love that!

F-troop brilliant again - thanks, lads and lasses, for contributing to the afternoon entertainment so magnificently. You were the brightest thing about the 1st half!

Sounds a rather boring game from spectator point of view. What was the attendance?

What people are neglecting to mention is that this ' fan' was in the F Troop end and when challenged, proceeded to wave the flare in the face of the Falmouth supporter which resulted in some pushing & shoving where to the credit of the St Blazey skipper who jumped into the crowd closely followed by some players & officials of both teams ,the situation was quickly extinguished (no pun intended !)

Meanwhile the perputrator above escaped by  jumping over the river at the back of the ground ! I agree with Hetty that St Blazey should be appropriately dealt with.Luckily it didn't ruin a good day at the office for Falmouth who were comfortable winners.

Up The Town !

Just for letting off a flare you’ve got to be joking, it probably livened up a boring afternoon.

Boring afternoon?

I know these people are not St Blazey fans but there behaviour was disgusting and embarrassing  ,from singing songs about paedophiles in the clubhouse in front of kids, flares ,throwing bottles at cars , their banner and using threatening language you lot are a disgrace  . Its Falmouth Town not Millwall away ffs !!!

A great game today at Bickland marred by a few mongs who probably cant handle their drink.Ive seen a few posts blamng St Blazey who are in no way to blame for infiltration by so called fans.A lot of Plymouth based fans travelled down to support Blazey at Falmouth today  and some of them i spoke to were good lads. But at the end of the day 1 or 2  it up for the rest of us.Back to the game and a good performance by St Blazey even if they did ship 5 goals . ....UTT

The attendance was a miserly 410. The gentleman with the flares was seen making his way from the Conway Road end before letting the flare off. Perhaps if it had been done at that end it would have been less provocative,  but nevertheless it is against the law.

Why can’t Falmouth field a full strength squad.
Helston and Saltash always see  to be able to.

Back to football.....

Saltash 8 Wadebridge 2

In simple terms, clinical and ruthless by the Ashes today. Saltash opened the scoring in 6th minute with Sam Hughes (in blistering form today). Defence mixup led to Wadebridge getting a goal in the 10th but Saltash turned on the style, with Barker scoring in 20th and Obrien in the 24th. The Ashes then had 2 more goals disallowed for offside (one of which must have been a toe off !) Just before halftime Hughes got his second.

 Half time 4-1.

If you thought Saltash would let it drift in 2nd half two quick goals by Ryan Richard's in 49th and Sam Hughes in 51st for his hatrick put pay to that! Then Sam scored his 4th in the 56th.

Game settled down with Ashes creating plenty of chances including another disallowed and having most of the possession before Wadebridge gave away a penalty for Barker to score in 77th. That penalty set the tone for the end of the match with Ashes getting a 2nd just a couple of minutes later but that landed towards the leisure centre.

Fair credit to Wadebridge they pressed again and got a penalty themselves in the 83rd and scored.

So 8 goals,  3 disallowed and a missed penalty.  97 goals in 19 matches and proof that it's a team playing for each rather than relying on 1 striker to score all the goals.

Sure I saw a few flares in Camborne main Street last week. Be a shame if there was an arrest for that! probably the only trousers the poor blokes have got!!!?? 😂

Know where you're coming from! I've still got two pairs in a drawer that I wore in the 60s and early 70s! Some old Redruth Grammarians will remember the yellow ones!

On a more serious note, the way the ref dealt with the incident was absolutely spot on as I wrote earlier. I just hope the jobsworths at County and National level don't do the wrong thing and somehow sanction the ref and the Blazey players involved by insisting on the full application of the laws of the game - you know, red cards for the players - because There won't be a spectator in the ground (apart from the perpetrators, perhaps) who would  say anything other than the actions of the ref and players were absolutely in the best interests of the game of football. Let's hope that all we hear about the incident is the arrest and summary conviction of the flare-holder and any other law-breaker. I knew nothing of the incidents before and after the game referred to aabove.
