But you have to remember that the players are snowflakes and don't like the wet and cold !

Then they should stick to Fifa in the warmth. I fear it's not just footballers.  Whilst loads of people was heading off home from work today, some of us battled on like it was the old days and went to work. The world doesn't need to stop because it snowed.

It didn't when I was a lad in the north when this kind of thing happened at least every winter for a week or two.

These days the population generally is mollycuddled.

I notice Phil Hiscox has granted home  clubs permission to postpone fixtures as of 9am tomorrow morning. Advised not only the state of pitches but also the distances the visiting team has to travel ( highlighting player/officials travel safety ) interesting to see which clubs will use common sense

6" snow on Falmouth towns pitch this afternoon

6” if snow over the best part of 5500 sqm adds up to a fair amount of water. Most likely that the pitch will be waterlogged because the soil will most probably still be frozen so the water has no where to go ... who’d be a Groundsman

Cullompton v Falmouth is off

Checking the records this is the 14th. Falmouth first team game to be called off this season.

It has been rescheduled for (Midweek) Tuesday 27th. March @7-45pm.which will mean a 230 mile round trip with over 4 hours on the road.--I am sure  all the boys will  make the effort  as the club have done in the past.

I have mentioned previously that  if some of these long journey games  could have been fixtured for a Sunday (following a Saturday game)-giving players more time to prepare rather than a mad rush after a days work  with opponents agreeing.

Luckily at the moment Falmouth  don't have to play three fixtures a week like Bodmin who I see in April face Saltash,Parkway,St.Austell and Tavistock within 8 days.

In the old South Western League days I can remember, a couple of times, Truro playing two games over the same weekend with the same squad of about 13/14 players!

A lot of teams did, going back to 1968 when Sunday football was allowed (not Sunday League!)

Buckland Park is downing in the dark

All the yellow hoarding blown away

Someone left the kit out in the rain

I don't think Big All can take it

Cos it took so long to build it

Will they ever play football there again?

Oh no.

Move the builders in !

After looking at Bickland Park this week I can only think that the Town players will be singing We all live in a Yellow Submarine.

When your boys are playing down Boscawen park Raymondo they could run out to The tide is high ! Blondie .?
