Is the Perranwell v St Agnes postponement Covid related?

The Mousehole first team have called off due to Covid-does the Development team still go ahead ?

I guess depends how close their players are when it comes to possibility of catching Covid or having to self isolate!

The odd player being missing presumably is not a problem.

Isn’t it the case that playing matches or training is NOT considered “close contact”?

I don’t know how many players are Covid affected in their first team but let’s hope the seconds are ok and able to raise a side.

Unless there has been close contact between the players there shouldn't be a problem.  From the FA's guidance:

CLOSE CONTACT AND SELF-ISOLATION
It is important to note that the definition of close contact remains the same in step four. Examples of close contact include:
    • Face-to-face contact under one meter for any length of time – including talking to someone or being coughed on;
    • Being within one meter of each other for one minute or longer;
    • Being within two meters of each other for more than 15 minutes in total in one day;
    • Travelling in the same vehicle.

If a player tests positive on a team there is not a need for the other players to self-isolate, unless they were in close contact, have been contacted by Test and Trace, have developed symptoms or tested positive themselves.  Therefore, players and clubs should consider how they can reduce the likelihood of close contact occurring.

From the 16th August, those who are fully vaccinated and under-18s will not have to self-isolate, unless they test positive for Covid or develop symptoms, in which case they must isolate. There must also be a two-week gap (i.e. 14 days) between your second vaccination and this exemption coming into effect. If you are over 18 and not fully vaccinated, you will still need to isolate if you come into close contact with someone with Covid.

It is important to note that players must continue to self assess and if they are experiencing any symptoms and awaiting a test result, they must stay at home.

Mullion v Wendron is now postponed due to  COVID related reasons. A shame for us as midweek when our 3s played their reserves they had stated they were short due to Boardmasters so would be taken some reserves and it is now the second bout of COVID they have had to face after a friendly v our first team was called off last month. Their club house is still open though which suggests it wasn’t an outbreak within the whole club which is good.

Hope those isolating are well. Such a shame to read @JonColenzo’s post regarding a player in the ECPL being hit badly by it - wish him well. Let’s hope that the season isn’t disrupted too much.

Best of luck to all those kicking off their St Piran season today!

Illogan 3 Mousehole 0

Ah! Footy again! Sat with my cuppa in the centre of the stand as the game began and, oddly, felt like I'd never been away!

Bit of a turgid 1st 25 minutes and the first shot of the game was a Mousehole effort on 30 mins, well saved by Barry Wyatt who was his usual taciturn self throughout.

Moving the tea-hut confused me but I found it - lovely cuppa for a quid, decaf, too. Poor bloke had his hot choc knocked all over him in 1st half injury time by an errant ball. at least 60 souls braving the perfect weather to watch this opener.

Goals: 1 - 0 (39), Aaron Myers, 2 - 0 (67), Barry Wyatt free kick from the half-way line, parried into his own net by the Mousehole 'keeper (who made up for it with a couple of great saves later in the game), 3 - 0 (89), Anton Oliver.

Can someone explain the  RNLI logo on the Mousehole shirt sleeve? Good to see the emblem there but surely they don't sponsor the club? Is it to do with some kind of charity partnership?

Looking forward tot he next game, wherever it is!

Helston 2-1 St Ives

St Ives started brightly and got their goal with a counter that ended with a cross being hammered home by the forward.
After that it was pretty much all Helston in possession trying to break down an organised St Ives defence. Half time came and it was still 0-1

A couple changes at the break and within 5 minutes it was 1-1. Lewis Hall send a cross from the touch line over the keeper and into the far top corner. More Helston pressure came and 10 minutes before the end, Fraser Paterson powered home a header at the back post to put Helston ahead. We kept pushing for a third and it didn’t come, with the match finishing 2-1

Falmouth town reserves 4-0 Hayle

Was a good watch today at Bickland park the pitch is looking outstanding, the weather was brilliant and the football from both sides was entertaining. Falmouth looking good today and could surprise a few this season, Hayle will be there end of the season we haven’t seen the best of them yet but will always be a threat with that lad Irish up front.

best of luck both sides for the season. next up for me st Austell vs Newquay In the week.

We Have no informed idea really, but our guess is that it's connected with The Solomon Browne tragedy

We have a very close relationship with the Penlee lifeboat regular fund raising and lots of club members who are also RNLI members and as a result the RNLI allow the club to proudly wear the RNLI badge on our shirts. Just for info the new stand at Trungle Parc is named the Solomon Browne stand again by kind permission of the RNLI. Hope this satisfies.

Strange that some teams still haven't submitted their team sheets online. Was pretty sure it's in league rules that teams must be submitted within 72hrs?

Tom, if you wrote less about your dehydration issues during 90 minutes you may be able to inhale a decent game. Haven’t seen any recent reports from your die hard team this season? How are they doing by the way, after popey left them at the bottom of the pit.
