Just back from the turkey shoot at Mt Wise where Newquay handed out a 9-2 hammering to Dartmouth who surprising had led 1-0 when the ref had ruled the ball had crossed the line you thought this wasnt on the cards and this made Newquay mad and scored goals at a masterful display .

Tom Shepherd made it 1-1 then Fallens and 2 for Price to make it 4-2 at Ht

Into the 2nd half Newquay continued to bang in the goals with Price completing his hat trick sub Ewan Travers sub Harry Tilston and the final nail in Dartmouths coffin the brilliant Cam TURNER

Dartmouths no 7 was very good and is my mom for them but for Newquay i couldnt single out 1 player the whole team was brilliant but no disrepect to Dartmouth, your boys got a hammering and could of been more if it wasnt for your goalie .

Only thing bad with the Newquay display was losing the brilliant Matt Saunders who went down holding the back of his leg when it didnt look like anyone was near him also Newquay having a sending off when there was  a altercation between both teams

Good crowd at Newquay this afternoon and i was close to the 50/50 3 numbers out

Ref and his assitants where excellents and they handled quite a difficult and feisty game very well ,

On todays showing Newquay would give anyone a hard game even the almighty Liskeard who are steamrolling there way to the championship with ease they will of won it by Christmas

Have a safe journey home to beautiful Dartmouth and good luck for the rest of the season

Would say this League is done and dusted now.

Have seen some disrespectful tweets from Liskeard players after the game.

Seem to forget Wendron pay £0, pity they can't say the same.

They are however the best Team in the League so guess it's fair play.

can’t see anything being disrespectful on there must be seeing things. maybe there manager thinks before claiming we ain’t played anyone of any quality yet?🤷🏻‍♂️ another clean sheet at a very tough place to go and ten wins on the bounce👍🏻 good luck to them for the rest of the season️

St Austell certainly made hard work of beating WADEBRIDGE today. Having been gifted 2 goals and the bridgers missing 2 golden chances, the 2-0 halftime lead soon became 3-0. A late rally brought it back to 3-2 but a late goal eased any fears and it finished 4-2. Could easily have been a tighter game but entertaining none the less.

Just saw a couple of the tweets & im my honest opinion if you can’t celebrate a great win away at your nearest rivals after having a poor record there & the coaching staff saying things like ‘they’ve not played anyone yet tho’ then when can u celebrate?
I do however thing nothing was needed to of been said by the players as they clearly did there talking on the pitch.
to me Wendron are a class outfit from the players. To the faculties and the way they conduct themselves. Whether it’s this season or next I’ve no doubt they’ll deservedly win the league.

Interesting game at Bude today as they won a scrappy affair 4-2.
Bude started very well and played some nice football however Sticker were threatening on the break and from one of these and the subsequent corner they took the lead.
A last man challenge resulted in a red for Bude (second yellow) on 30 minutes and Bude were really up against it now. However Bude continued to press and got a deserved equaliser a few minutes before halftime.
The second half saw Bude in control for large parts but Sticker were by no means just there to make up the numbers and threatened the Bude goal on a number of occasion's. Bude went 2-1 up, only for Sticker to make it all square. It was a scrappy game at times as possession was changed time after time, but Bude scored a lovely 3rd and followed it up with a 4th. Perhaps slightly unfair on Sticker who played very well. However that said, Bude played an hour with 10 men and deserved the win.
The ref was ok today but gave out a couple of early yellows and had no where to go after that. It wasn’t a dirty game but we had quite a few yellows and if course the red.

Fitting tribute at Home Park yesterday in memory of Mike Bickle. One minute applause rang out around the ground accompanied by a large b&w photo of the great man on the giant screen.

As the current fans sing these days ' Michael Bickle he's one of our own.'

RIP.

Camelford had a good win against Newton Abbot Spurs who are 4th in the East division. Played so well and were 3 up at half time game over. Reg had to stand by the entrance yesterday after getting three yellows in the competion, seems a strange school type punishment, I would think not being in the dugout would suffice.

ST DENNIS 2 PENZANCE 2
Bottom club St Dennis pulled off a rousing late come-back to nick just their fourth point of the season and deny Penzance what would have been a first away victory.
The visitors edged ahead early on when goalkeeper Ryan Holland fouled Silas Sullivan allowing Jacob Trudgeon to score from the spot – his third goal in two matches. The Magpies had further chances, but owed their half-time lead to three brilliant saves from Mikey Flores – two of which denied Mykey Davies – as St Dennis generally bossed proceedings.
The second half was an entirely different proposition with Penzance well on top. One minute in captain Tyler Tonkin, again deployed as a makeshift centre-forward in Michael Fitchett’s absence, had a header cleared off the line by Aaron Weeks. Sullivan curled a shot inches wide and Tonkin and Liam Andrew went close with headers from crosses by Archie Reynolds and Charlie Willis respectively.
After Willis had been clattered by Weeks, James Butler was thrown wide out right to whip in the free-kick. The young left-back obliged, plopping a sumptuous delivery on to the forehead of Andrew to put Penzance two up. An injury to the excellent Butler shortly afterwards, however, changed the course of the match. His withdrawal saw scorer Andrew’s brother Ryan come on, forcing regular right-back Reynolds to switch flanks.
Before the Magpies had time to re-adjust Flores, under a robust challenge, spilled a deep up-and-under. The ball broke kindly to Danny Zalick to fire St Dennis back into contention. The pace of home substitute Ryan Hollett then exposed Penzance in the comprised left-back position, drawing a foul. From the spot, Davies finally got the better of Flores to earn St Dennis their point.
“Today we had to show different aspects to our game against a very physical team,” said Magpies manager Ashley Waters afterwards. “In the last month Penzance have become a side of battling qualities with a real togetherness. Today we showed that and deserved three points. We made two errors and got punished for both. With a bit more luck the game could have been over in the first twenty minutes of the second half. Tyler Tonkin led the line well with the defence again strong, and young Ollie Butler, Charlie Willis and Kam Collins put in great shifts on a terrible pitch. We are disappointed with the result but the work rate was brilliant and we’ve got a point away from home.”

St Dennis: Ryan Holland, James Baker (captain), Aaron Weeks, Ash Taylor, Dan O’Brien, Nathan Lang, Martin Sleeman, Andrew Butler, Danny Zalick, Ray Spear, Mykey Davies. Subs: Harry Cranstone, Mark Rowe, Zach Best, Ryan Hollett, Damian Boyle
Penzance: Mikey Flores, Archie Reynolds, James Butler (Ryan Andrew 76), Mark Vercesi, Liam Andrew, Charlie Willis, Jacob Trudgeon (Rolandos Samnauskas 81), Kam Collins, Tyler Tonkin (captain), Ollie Butler, Silas Sullivan. Unused subs: Ashley Mead, Sam Fisher, Will Trenoweth
Referee: Ryan Dennis

Assistants: Daniel Bennetts, Stuart Bowden

If they did, wouldn’t the Dron be another Millbrook upon promotion? Irrespective, Wendron are such a fantastic club. Very classy (especially in defeat) and so many people have them as their favourite ‘other’ club. My favourite club down west.

Sidmouth Town 3, Ivybridge Town 2

Press Release from Graham Hambly

A SECOND-HALF revival failed to prevent Ivybridge Town from suffering their first league defeat of the season when they lost 3-2 away to Sidmouth Town in the South West Peninsula League on Saturday (Nov 25).

A stoppage time goal by Liam Carey saw Sidmouth collect the victory that ended Ivybridge’s 14-match unbeaten run at the top of the East Division.

Sidmouth began strongly with early goals by Carey, from a free kick in the seventh minute, and Nathan Cooper, who added a second six minutes later.

Ivybridge battled back at the start of the second half with the lively Jack Alexander reducing the arrears with a fine shot into the top corner in the 55th minute.

It was the seventh goal of the season for Alexander, who was the Ivybridge man of the match.

Ivybridge were on top at this stage with substitute Colin Pritchard a constant threat to the home side. In fact, a foul on Pritchard in the 66th minute earned Ivybridge a penalty which Jake Lane calmly converted, also for his seventh goal of the season which includes three penalties.

At that stage Ivybridge were back on level terms and looked set to extend their impressive league campaign, but they suffered a late setback when Bailey Gamble was shown a red card for a tackle with a couple of minutes of the 90 remaining.

Then, with the game four minutes into added time, Carey struck for his second goal of the afternoon to wrap up victory for Sidmouth.

Ivybridge joint manager Wayne Gamble was disappointed to see his side beaten in a game where he felt they deserved a draw.

But he added: “At least we do not have the unbeaten tag to carry any longer and we still have some breathing space at the top of the table.”

With 40 points from 15 games, Ivybridge have a 10-point lead over Crediton, who are in second place with a game in hand following their 4-1 win at Stoke Gabriel on Saturday.

Ivybridge will look to return to winning ways when they travel to Okehampton on Saturday (Dec 2). Okehampton are on a four-match winning run including a 4-2 win over Crediton and a 2-0 victory at Elburton on Saturday.

Gamble says: “It will be a massive game for us at Okehampton, but we will be ready for it.”

The next home fixture for Ivybridge will be a vital clash against Crediton the following Saturday (Dec 9).

Sidmouth surely team of the week 👍

Most will all go to either Wadebridge, Camelford or Callington.

Most of the squad are only playing at that level due to not wanting to travel which is a valid reason for me.

Be interesting to see what happens, think they would actually be competitive in most game they played if they were in the current Western League.

This season's Western League Prem has 10 of the 18 clubs based in Devon and Cornwall. Bridgwater, Street and Wellington aren't that much further into Somerset. The travelling isn't exactly extreme. Listening to the podcast, most clubs have accepted and embraced it (even started to enjoy the day out).
