St Minver Res. 1-1 Grampound (after extra time)
St Minver won 4-3 on penalties

A patched-up bare 11 Grampound team took the lead 10 minutes before half time but conceded a penalty after 80 minutes and the scores were levelled.  The home side pressed hard in extra time but a resolute and well-organised defence held out without too many alarms.
St Minver were slightly better at penalties and go through to round 2.

Dropship FC 2 - 1 Frogpool

Dropship FC welcomed Frogpool to Memorial park for what was the first ever Junior Cup game for the home side.

Both teams started well and tried to play football when they could. Both teams started playing in a direct manner, with plenty of long "killer" balls being put over the defence on both sides with the hope of catching out the opposition defenders. Both teams had chances during the first half hour however it was Frogpool's Dean Goulding that struck lucky with a decent strike from 30 yards. The ball was straight at the Dropship FC goalkeeper however, the ball seemed to move from left to right in the air which caught Adam out - the ball ended up going straight between his hands in the centre of the goal.

The Frogpool midfield three were bossing things in the centre of midfield and the introduction of the big man, Bash Sheriff in the centre of the park for us at half time was enough to start breaking down their midfield play which enabled Dropship to get back into the game. It wasn't long into the second half that Dropship equalised. A moment of madness by the Frogpool Keeper - the ball went out of play for a throw in and he decided to come across and take it. Unfortunately, a poor throw led to Ben Fletcher gaining possession in midfield and with a few touches, he launched a shot over the retreating goalkeeper and defenders which sailed into the back of the net.

It wasn't long after that Dropship got the winner. A very good advantage by referee Francis Hood saw Peter Norfolk pick the ball up on the edge of the box and one on one, put it past the advancing goalkeeper.

Dropship FC had the better chances in the game with Ben Fletcher coming close on a number of occasions, @erby ruin missing a few sitters from two yards out (can score worldies mind you) and then myself hitting the bar twice late on in the second half. Worth noting that the Dropship Keeper pulled off some pretty decent saves as well.

Thanks to Frogpool for the game and thanks to referee Francis Hood.

Looking forward to the next round.
