  1. St Dominic 4-4 Lifton In a great game for the neutral an open attack game was had at st Dominic. Both teams started quickly but st Dom had the opening chance but unable to hit the target. Lifton went up the other end and Adam smith thought he’d scored with a lob over the keeper only for the hard ground assist in putting it over the bar with the keeper stranded. Lifton on the front foot had two further chances missing the target after some great play from carwyn bluett down the left. The deadlock was broken with Jordan mason scoring a lovely shot from 25 yards. It was st Dom who took the next two goals after gaining control on the middle of the park and scoring some good shots past the lifton keeper. H/T 2-1 St Dom made it 3-1 early in the second half from the left hand side to put themselves in a good position but there was still more to come with a couple Mason free kicks for the visitors to restore parity. With 15 or so to go st doms must have thought they had won it only for Barry Rutherford cutting in from the right to score past the keeper after some good work on the left hand side. A number of chances in the last 10 with a st doms 5th chalked off for a push. All in all a draw was a fair result but a great advert for duchy football.
  2. Lifton 4-1 st breward A great game which had a bit of everything except a card. Both teams started well but lifton took the lead through a 25 yard shot from lb Blair Vanstone, st breward we’re shortly after awarded a penalty and looked to level it but the lifton keeper made a very good save to keep it at 1-0. Lifton started to work the ball around and Lewis halliday was through 1-1 with the keeper and scored his 1st of the day. St breward then pulled one back with a wicked deflection off of the lifton center half sending the keeper the wrong way. HT 2-1 st breward came out the brighter in the second half and we’re making great opportunities without threatening the lifton ‘keeper. But it was lifton again that played some good football for halliday to end up 1-1 again and dutifully struck the back of the net. st breward pushed to get back in the game but it was lifton and halliday again that put the game to bed rounding off his hat trick with another 1-1 through the keepers legs for 4-1. Would also like to say the game was superbly officiated by the returning Barry Bottrill.
  3. Tintagel 1-7 lifton Another game without an appointed referee but an ex official was available to help out and greatly appreciated by both teams. a game with the opening exchanges saw some chances at both ends with lifton hitting both posts and tintagel shooting narrowly wide, lifton opened the scoring with Charlie Wevill opening the scoring with a lob in to the far corner. Tintagel with some good play starting by there corner flag and creating space through the midfield to open up after a failed interception from the lifton defenders left the tintagel player through 1-1. This result was seen out at half time. the second half saw lifton dominate the attack and start to create more chances and Wevill doubled his tally with a smart shot inside the box. with there tails up lifton made it 3 through Brandon ambrose with good feet to create space before firing low past the keeper. liftons 4th and Wevill’s 3rd came from a cutting ball from Ambrose to open up the defence and leave Wevill 1-1 to score from the edge of the area, Wevill’s 4th and liftons 5th came in similar fashion to his 3rd with a ball from ambrose to send him 1-1 and another strong finish. Liftons 6th came from a goal mouth scramble which saw Craig charnock score from inside the 6 yard box with players around him. Ambrose doubled his tally with a strong run from midfield through the defence with a powerful shot past the tintagel ’keeper. it was a great contest and tintagel didn’t give up regardless of the score line trying to create space and chances even in the dying minutes.
  4. Castle loyale 3-2 delabole southgate 8-1 st merryn I went to take in north petherwin vs Holywell and cubert and a it was an interesting game where the game was 0-0 at half time with petherwin missing a penalty and hitting the post twice and h&c missing some good chances just in the first half. in the second half H&C seemed to start brightly but as soon as petherwin scored the wind went out of there sails and with petherwins confidence growing by the second they brushed past H&C with ease through some good team goals, a couple penalties and a couple lucky ones. final score 9-0.
  5. for me it’s Div 1 east - bude res or north petherwin div 1 west - nanpean div 2 - foxhole res div 1 east opening game of petherwin vs bude could be a good game petherwin new management team from holsworthy 2nds seem to have brought a lot of new faces to a well established side and bude res seemingly grown on the very good squad of the past two seasons if nanpean have kept wilmott then his goals should put them up there if not out of sight foxhole res seems to have put a very good side together in preseason but what do I know I’m wrong every year 😂😂

  7. hi guys this was an invite league started by lifton to keep travel to a minimum. We had 6 teams but one pulled out. (Anymore and it would have been too many games) It’s not associated with the duchy league in only the fact all the teams play in the duchy league. Today’s results Gunnislake 0-1 Alternun charlie wevill Lifton 1-3 Calstock Lifton scorer Jake Murrain calstock Jason ridgement Own goal Christian Thorpe
  8. 5 teams from the duchy league have agreed a mini league competition starting tomorrow the 3rd April. Teams entered are Alternun, Calstock, Gunnislake, Lifton and North petherwin. Tomorrows games are Alternun vs gunnislake (two teams that would have been competing for the duchy prem crown. Lifton vs Calstock We have cleared this with the Ccfa to make sure they are happy. I will update results and what games are on where in this thread. it’s good to get back playing 😊
  9. For mental health reasons I think a lot of players are struggling and will love to see the league resume. However with 22 league games for our 1st in duchy prem and 18 for our reserves in duchy 2 this maybe a stretch to complete even with the June extension. Add to that the fact we share our pitch with a cricket club who get the pitch back in may we have potentially 20ish home games to fit in in April. We all want it back but we are going to have to have a clear plan of action. Lots of different options out there maybe only play a team once but what do you do if two teams have played twice already? Get them to play a game and expunge the other results?
  10. North hill 1-0 lifton reserves with the match being played on a pitch in any other years probably called off north hill got the win in the division 2 clash. lifton started the brightest but couldn’t really get any real chances away to test the keeper attacking in to the good half of the pitch and we’re made to pay in the second half when the north hill striker jumped on a mistake from the lifton cb to slot past the lifton keeper. lifton had better chances to even the game up but with the pitch getting worse under foot couldn’t find the back of the net. Won’t be one that anyone will say is a classic but well done to north hill who were camped in there own 18 yard box for the last 10 minutes to secure there 1st win of the season
  11. I was just asking as I hadn’t seen any guidance but surely if a whole squad has been told to self isolate then have they been following the protocols correctly? either way let’s hope for a decent winter, everyone to be healthy and no further lockdowns
  12. So are you saying that if a team cant raise a side due to covid that there will be no punishments.
  13. Lifton 1st 3-2 st merryn. lifton took the advantage early on when brandon ambrose was fouled in the box and George murrian converted the resulting penalty murrian then turned provider to set up Nathan farrer to head past the keeper the next 50 minutes ebbed and flowed and murrian set up Lifton’s 3rd with a great ball to beat the offside trap and leave Connor Everitt through one on one with the keeper and slotted past the keeper st merryn sparked in to life with 10 minutes to go and scored though a defensive mix up from a corner with Kev Allen slotting in to a the bottom corner St merryn then cut the deficit to one when a ball came in the box and Josh old looped a header over the keeper with Lifton calling for offside with a second st merryn player between the striker and the keeper. a frantic last 3 minutes with Lifton holding on for the win
  14. Afc Bodmin vs Lifton off lifton res vs grampound off Gutting after 2 months with no games for the 1sts.
  15. Lifton Res 5-2 north petherwin reserves Lifton George Murrain 4 Brandon Ambrose Mom Myron Wenden-Hadley In a later than scheduled ko at a different venue Petherwin started brighter and went ahead when mada lin boss under pressure back heeled past the keeper. Lifton then got in to the game and George murrian scored a freekick high past the keeper. Lifton doubles there lead when Brandon Ambrose controlled the ball one on one with the keeper and fired low across the keeper. Murrian made it 3 with another freekick over the keeper in your the far post. Half time came and petherwin grew in to the game and frustrated lifton with out causing any issues and murrian completed his hat trick from the spot putting the keeper the wrong way. Lifton’s 5th came from murrian again again when the keeper couldn’t keep hold of the looping shot. Petherwin scores in the dying moments of the game with a good shot high in to the keepers net from the edge of the 18 yard box by Brandon stott. Another great refereeing performance let the gane flow talked all the way through.
  16. Lifton Res 4-2 Bude thirds. With lifton 2nd from bottom and bude undefeated this looked like a fixture that bude would would control easily. the game started quickly and lifton had to make to changes at about the 7 minute mark after two injuries. the game ebbed and flowed and both teams had chances to go ahead but it was new signing Brandon ambrose who opened the scoring at around the half hour mark after connecting with a George murrian corner at the near post. half time came with the score at 1-0 and lifton with there tails up started brightly with ambrose providing the cross for Barry Rutherford unmarked at 8 yards for a tap in past the sprawling keeper. bude took control of the game and bounced back scored a good goal low to the lifton keepers right post. With bude in control mostly a George murrian freekick evaded the keeper for 3-1. Bude instantly replied when maxim Garcha scored a low shot across the keeper. Bude pushed for an equaliser but it was lifton who put the game to bed with Darren Volz scoring a free Kick in to top left hand corner. The game ended just after the restart. it was a great battle from two good teams and well officiated by Alan stokes
  17. Lifton Reserves 2-1 lostwithial res In a game that could have seen either team win lifton took the points. Lifton went 1-0 up after Lee Robinson reacted quickest to a loose ball and rounded the lostwithial keeper. From the resulting kick off lostwithial instantly replied. The game saw some smart saves from lifton keeper Andy Oldaker putting two on to the crossbar. The winner came with about 10 minutes to go when Rob Oldaker went through on to a loose ball that the keeper didn’t have control of and tapped in to an open net.
  18. Lifton 0-2 Alternun lifton battled hard but were undone by a strong Alternun side. headed goal from sam smith 12 yards and low shot across the box from toby knights for Alternuns goals.
  19. Yea we struggled today a bit of luck our way and we may have kept in it a bit more. The 3rd took anything away from us and we struggled to get any momentum going
  20. Some good games there bude Res vs alternun being the pick I’d say
  21. Lifton 1-1 st breward lifton looked in control throughout the 1st half controlling the ball and creating more chances but found themselves 1-0 down at 30 minutes when a st brewards Jaime Henderson was allowed time and space to get a shot away and past the lifton keeper with the help of a deflection. The second half was a very even affair with both teams pinning each other back for periods. Lifton’s break through came when the st breward keeper handled a back pass in the area and George murrian was teed up to score in the far post. Lifton looked the more likely to win it in the dying minutes but couldn’t find the winner.
