  1. Just want to add, cracking performance from the man in the middle Neil Stephens. Without doubt best ref we’ve had. Even though he gave them 2 penalties 😂 Need more refs like him.
  2. Bond Timber Junior Cup Gwin 3-2 North Petherwin What a result for my boys and what a performance. Being the underdogs against the higher placed opposition I made it clear to the boys that they’ve got nothing to lose and to enjoy the occasion. We went 1-0 up from a Gavin Russell header from a long throw. From then we dominated and hit the bar from Charlie shears. Other missed chances let us down and was capitalized on when they were awarded a penalty against the run of play. 1-1. I was gutted and could see the boys were also. But give the boys their due they dug in and kept it going and grabbed it by the scruff. Resulted in skipper Russell scoring from a long range lob that nestled into top corner. Fantastic finish. H-T 2-1 Team talk was pretty much; don’t take foot of gas. And carry on. We did that and James Franklin who made his debut made a quality run into penalty area and was bought down which resulted in penalty. Which was calmly slotted by top goal scorer Billy Foster. 3-1 and cruising. We were on top and had the possession and couldn’t see anything going wrong. How wrong I was, a miscued clearance led to their striker bursting through on goal, Marcus Bawden last ditch tackle went wrong. Red card and penalty. 3-2. Gutted. Felt sorry for Marcus as he’s been outstanding for me recently but no arguments. Deserved. We held on to the win, every one of my players played like a hero. And I can’t give them enough praise, love all of them. The complete opposite feeling to Titans at home a fortnight ago 😂😂😂 But we’ve made history for Gwinear and we’ve made the quarter finals against all odds. Got to give the boys credit when they deserve it and they certainly deserve it today. Mom Sam Charlton. Was everywhere. Could have give it to anyone but puppy deserved his pat on the back. Different class Bring on the draw!!!! ⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️
  3. Gwin 7-3 Redruth Needed a response after last weeks display and I got it for about 60% of the game where we dominated and played good footy. Still room for improvement. Some good goals and performances. Goals from Marcus Bawden, Bijan Akbari, Billy Foster with 2 and captain fantastic Gavin Russell with a hat trick. Much happier this week. Move onto junior cup action next week. 2PM kick off. With a decent performance we could get into the quarter finals of the junior cup which is a great achievement. Mom Gavin Russell **** of day Gavin Russell 😂
  4. Gwin 1-8 Titans Not much I can say. A shambles and embarrassment. Outplayed from first minute. They wanted it and we thought it was gunna be easy. Never been so frustrated and embarrassed managing a side. Need a big change and kick up the ass for next week against Redruth. Well done titans.
  5. Mariners 2-8 Gwin Decent performance from the boys. Took our chances well and could have scored more. A hat trick for Billy Foster who looked sharp all game. Another hat trick for stand in skipper Sam Charlton. Other goals for Bijan Akbari and Jack Whitcombe. Played some good football in the second half after quite a lacklustre first half. But all came good and gives us some confidence going into the massive game against Titans at our place next week. Man of the match - Sam Charlton. Ran the show, covered every blade of grass, won every challenge. A complete performance. And topped it off with a worldie at the end of the game. Even he was shocked it went in 😂 Merry Christmas from everyone at Gwinear! ⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️
  6. Gwinear v Fourlanes div 2 OFF. Pitch inspection from Paul Birch deemed unplayable. A lot of standing water and would be dangerous to play on.

    Junior cup last 16

Like all the ringers we had against Boscastle 🙄🙄 🛎🔚

    Junior cup last 16

Still crying then? 😂😂😂 Last 16, lovely. Look forward to having North Petherwin visiting us, hopefully a better bunch of lads than Boscastle 👋🏼👋🏼
  9. Exactly what I said to the ref! Think they were clutching at straws 🤔😂
  10. Gwin (Trelawney 2) 4-3 Boscastle (Duchy Prem) What a cup tie. Had it all. We started the game well against a difficult opposition. We went 1-0 up through a clinical finish from Billy Foster. We then doubled the lead where Derek Pickin finished cooly just after the first. We dominated the first half I thought, a couple lapses of concentration gave them a couple openings but nothing major. HT 2-0 Boscastle come out of the blocks very well and get one back to make it 2-1. Decent finish from a corner. We then get the 2 goal cushion from a breakaway goal from star man Foster with a quality finish. Boscastle then get the game going again with another goal from a cross. Then came the controversy. The ball got played over to Foster who did well to keep the ball in and play through Jack Whitcombe to score the winner. BUT Boscastle thought it went out or one of our supporters kept it in. The supporter didn’t kick it at all, Foster had a great touch. The ball may have gone out of play but was tight and to be honest I don’t really care as we won the game, but with their moaning to the ref; there was a lot of delay in the awarding of the goal but it was given. They got a consolation goal at the end. But all in all we deserved the win and I’m proud of every single lad in my team. Boscastle were sore losers but understandable after losing to lower league opposition and deservedly. Things got heated towards the end but it was expected in such a fierce game. Only shame was their manager trying to carry it on in the pub after but who cares; we’re through, gone the furthest Gwin have ever been in the junior cup and we cannot wait for the next draw. I think the boys were all very rough yesterday after a very enjoyable night out celebrating. What a quality performance from the boys! And well done to all the other West sides on progressing! MOM Billy Foster, 2 goals, 2 assists. **** of Day - Billy Foster, foul throw 🙈 Fourlanes away next week, another massive game. ⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️
  11. I haven’t used it as an excuse, and to say we haven’t been very good is a little stupid too, we’ve lost 1 in 9 or something like that ? concentrate on your own side maybe ?
  12. You are a clown ???? I had 3 of my back 4 unavailable, who have played every game this season you idiot. So before you go saying ‘senior players’ using us; get your facts right first. You are comical! There isn’t many teams in the trelawney that don’t have players out each week, part of the parcel. But obviously you know the in’s and outs of Gwin and know the players that have played every game by the sounds of it ??‍♂️??‍♂️?? He’s still got it. Safe hands ????
  13. Gwin 3-2 Mullion With a weather affected game we came out on top with a very depleted side. Took the lead through Billy Foster through a penalty. Scrappy first half refereed by a new referee who couldn’t have picked a more physical game to start with. A lot of big tackles and handbags. Ended with our skipper Gavin Russell and away team player getting a sin bin. H-T 1-0 After a bit of a hair dryer from me at half time as I thought we didn’t even get out of first gear and was frustrating after having the wind, we started a lot better. Scoring again through top goal scorer Foster with another penalty. We then conceded after a dubious penalty to them which we were all dumbfounded by. 2-1. Carried on with a very competitive game with tackles flying in. We scored again through the main man Foster scoring a great header at the back post from a great free kick from Sam Charlton. I think we dominated the game throughout and deserved the win, even with Mullion trying to wind our boys up and getting in our heads any way they could. Mullion then scored a consolation at the end to make it 3-2. Deserved win for us in shocking conditions. But happy that we ground out the result. MOM Marcus Bawden again, with a quality, mature performance at the back. Shoutout to Paul Miners for coming out of retirement and having a cracking first half before coming off injured ?? with Ashleyjade Dunn returning with a great second half. Happy with the result! Redruth away next week. ⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️
