Dave Deacon Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 Godolphin Atlantic v Callington Town St Blazey v AFC St Austell To be played March 3rd & 4th
Paul Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 Godophin v St Blazey final then. Look forward to it.
Guest Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Assuming Godolphin win, Bodmin or Falmouth would be a good shout for a final venue, taking into account the likely Junior Cup finalists too but my money is on Truro - the only club in Cornwall not participating in the county's premier competition.

Wouldn't surprise me if Truro get the final, they seem to be getting everything else that CCFA are dishing out this year. Eng v Wales U18's + Cornwall Ladies v Yeovil Town, why the hell not give the final to them as well. If Godolphin win through v St Blazey or St Austell, then Falmouth would be perfect, could be the last big game at Bickland before being bulldozed. If it is Callington v either of the other two, then Newquay would be ideal. The club is celebrating it's 125th Year and as they missed out on the Ladies game, despite being the biggest promoters of Ladies football in Cornwall for the last 15 years, it would be some compensation and reward. Good luck to all sides left in the Cup.

This was and is a matter for the Cornwall Schools governing body.
BIG AL Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 For reasons only known to themselves the Cornwall FA will never give the final to Falmouths ground. This is the attitude of an outdated organisation !
Tommy Matthews Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 The county youth team played at Bickland Park three or four years ago so what part of that is outdated?
Referee Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 I reffed the West Junior Cup Final at Bickland a few years ago. .........
JacobEnglefield Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 When is the final by any chance? Isn't it usually on Easter Monday? In that case Truro City are supposed to be playing at home to Weymouth on that day. Can't see it being there to be honest. I can see it being at Falmouth, Newquay or Bodmin.
Guest Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Will Truro be able to play at home on Easter Monday? Something about an old law that the CCFA introduced saying no matches can be staged on that day because of the Senior Cup Final. Clubs can play away - in other counties.

Truro played at Treyew Road on Easter Monday the last time their fixture fell on this date
Mike Odgers Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 The Southern League wont be bothered with the CCFA ruling it happened when Hayle staged the Finals and Truro were Home the same Easter Monday. The bigger gate was at Tryew Road
Guest Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 I know it came to light when Truro were given a home fixture on that day but wasn't aware that the CCFA changed the rules. At least if they are home that rules Treyew Road out of the running for the big day! :yahoo:
BIG AL Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 I am referring to the senior cup final - when was this last staged at Bickland Park?
davegrose Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Big al stop goin on bout the final being played at Falmouth on Easter Monday cos if we get to the junior cup final n that's a big if I really don't fancy the drive to Falmouth, crappy roads heaving with bank holiday traffic!!!
Brianmooreshead Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 I don't think you need worry about that old son
Guest Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 I am referring to the senior cup final - when was this last staged at Bickland Park? The only two times were 1972 (St Austell vs Looe) and 1998 (Truro City vs Porthleven) which went to a replay, also staged at Falmouth.
Paul Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Falmouths ground is in a right state really. Not sure it's up to cup final standard. Stands falling down etc. Shame really.
digger1000 Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 What about holding the football finals at the stadium for cornwall, oops sorry we haven't got one,I reckon we will have one by the 2075/76 season!!
davegrose Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 I don't think you need worry about that old son U ain't my dad n if ur that confident put £20 on it Brian bighead lol
Brianmooreshead Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 You keep your money in your pocket Dave You can use it to pay to get in on Easter Monday
margo Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Chinese whispers on Twitter suggests Godolophin v Callington at Bodmin 3/3/15St Austell v St Blazey at Liskeard 4/3/15
Pauller8 Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Grosey and billy upsetting people again, tut tut tut
BIG AL Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Surely they are not the venues. If so for once the Cornwall FA has used common sense and once for many years sited the venues as close to the participating teams that is fair !
SuperCooper Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 If the games were played during the day I think Liskeard would be great place to play, but their lights are terrible at the moment which questions if the ground is viable for a county cup semi final at night.
ennis81 Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 If the games were played during the day I think Liskeard would be great place to play, but their lights are terrible at the moment which questions if the ground is viable for a county cup semi final at night. As long as the lights meet the requirement of 120 lumens for step 3 and below then they are good to go whether you think they are terrible or not. Begs the question how many lighting systems are regularly checked, or is it a case of yeah we can see the ball that'll do, again though it's down to cost and more maintenance expense.
Guest Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 I'm surprised the lights at Bodmin reach the requires lux value.

TheolderIgetthebetterIwas Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Fairish spread there I think. Blazey did well for a while.
Mike Odgers Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Its due for an occasion down West
davegrose Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 St Dennis would b ideal for the Easter Monday finals, just a 100yd walk down the road for me,n Brian hopefully that 20 quid will b spent celebrating our win if we get to said final
BIG AL Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 I notice Penzance have not been in with a shout for sometime - must be out of favour with Cornwall FA. Good playing surface and excellent viewing areas.
OldFan Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 If a team from the West is in the final then it would be fair to have it in that area, as the final will be an all East account, then that's where it should be. Common sense really, fans of say a Callington v St Blazey final shouldn't have to trek all the way down to Penzance
Paul Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 St Blazey v Liskeard several years ago was played at Penzance. Liskeard equalised in the final minute and the replay was then at Tavistock which Liskeard won I believe. This might have been the league cup. Good crowds for both though even though the finals were a fair way from both clubs.

Both games finished 1-1 with Liskeard winning 4-2 on penalties.

BIG AL Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 I do not believe it - Cornwall FA have used common sense on the venues!
Guest Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 I think the choices seem ok, I can't see a problem with them. Now for the final..... :)
TheolderIgetthebetterIwas Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 Must have been reading your posts Big Al :c:

Guest Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 At least it does get moved around. It took a vote in the early 1960s I believe to get that implemented. Before that it was almost always at St Austell, even if the Lilywhites were in the final.
Dave Deacon Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 almost always at St Austell The hotbed of Cornish football! :yahoo:
Guest Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 almost always at St Austell The hotbed of Cornish football! :yahoo: And an awful sloping pitch to host its main showpiece encounter and the runners up match! :c:
