Titus Bramble Posted May 23, 2021 Report Posted May 23, 2021 Seems fair... Penryn drive 15 mins to Wendron (a ground they’ll all be very familiar with) Polperro drive 1 hr 20 mins to a ground they’re unlikely to have played on much, if at all. Surely somewhere like Sticker, Newquay or St Dennis would have been fairer?

Congrats to Penryn yesterday...and what a goal that sealed the game..class act. Good luck to both teams in final Thecupfootballblogger 1

MattP Posted May 23, 2021 Report Posted May 23, 2021 We’re not worried, happy to travel anywhere for a game of football under these circumstances. We actually know Wendron well, old friends of ours and always a pleasure to see Pete Thorne and co. Great venue for a cup final! Jeremy Wade, WendronOfficial, JonColenzo and 3 others 6

Don't see why Newquay should be suggested as not a member of the St Piran League and a lot of clubs well into their summer ground work no doubt.

RAPPO Posted May 23, 2021 Report Posted May 23, 2021 Wendron pitch was absolutely immaculate yesterday, could have eaten your dinner off it!! The whole ground is a pleasure these days, well done to Pete and everyone at Wendron for all their efforts to achieve this! Saw the goal of any season yesterday as well, what a strike!! 👏🏼👍⚽️ Well worth the £8 to get the mrs and mother in law in as well! Great refreshing attitude from Matt, I’m sure his lads won’t worry about the trip when they arrive and see the surface they’ll be playing the final on 👏🏼 Well done to Steve and all at the SPL for producing a really good tournament and getting the lads back playing meaningful football after 2 ruined seasons for them 👍⚽️ MattP, Thecupfootballblogger, Jeremy Wade and 1 other 4
WendronOfficial Posted May 23, 2021 Report Posted May 23, 2021 Pleasure hosting the semi and final next week. All the best to both sides. TheolderIgetthebetterIwas, MattP, RAPPO and 1 other 4
Thecupfootballblogger Posted May 23, 2021 Report Posted May 23, 2021 (edited) My blog from the Illogan v Penryn semi-final is now online at thecupfootballblogger.wordpress.com Wendron's ground was in top condition and is a fitting spot for the final. And Penryn's third goal was sensational. I might have got a bit carried away when writing about it!
