Can't wait for the season to start and the fans return!!!UTT

Recommended Posts

Roll on the start of the season when our football returns in the SWPL.

Falmouth Town have been really busy pre-season replacing the old roof on the main grand stand with a brand new one. In addition there are brand new dug outs plus an official press box situated at the back of the stand. The whole place has had a re-paint. Lots of work and effort by too many to name. Add to that a new pa system which will blast our new walk on music, thats a surprise tune. Oh and not forgetting we had new floodlights at the beginning of last season. Things are looking up.

The F-troop had a collection and raised £1700 which paid for a roof extension to our home...The Packet End. It is now bigger and has brand new supports plus fascia with THE PACKET END proudly written in amber. Our aim is to fill that end every game with noise, colour and atmosphere.

We want every visitor to Bickland Park, player and supporter to enjoy our unique atmosphere.

Can we win the league ?? maybe not but who knows ? but we will be up there this season. Every player pulling on that famous black & amber shirt will give his last drop of sweat for the cause.

See you all in the coming season.

UTT

Poor result againstTruro. Things can only get better. Going to be a long hard season though.

Truro were great Al but we can take a few positives from the performance. It was 2-2 well into the game until a dubious penalty. The game went away from us at the end but considering our fitness levels are not as high as the Truro side we did great. Truro are favourites to win their league which is 3 steps above us and their class told in the end.

Remember the distancing rule Geoff...lol.

Like that's going to happen...lol

Best of luck.

Social distancing in the Packet End is possible Baks. We all have face masks etc. Here's hoping that we will be back soon mate and good luck to Penryn FC for the coming season. UTT & UTB.

Looking very smart. Good to see the ground looking smart again. For years its felt like one good gust of wind would take half the ground with it. Hard work paying off now.

Yea agree Paul. Bickland Park is looking fantastic today but it needed a lot of time and effort. Lots of people coming together for a common cause to re-establish Falmouth Town football club.

Just waiting  for Big Al to run down all of the good work done at Bickland.  Mind you from what I read he hasn't  been there very often recently.😂😂

Be fair Clubman, he was one of the first to introduce social distancing locally, and that was before the pandemic !!     Foresight or what !!  😜

Mmm - I think he's been seen WOTP. Previous posts elsewhere seem to suggest this.

Walks past Bickland park every day I'm told?

Surely you can't turn that down BIG AL. Good football, friendship offer and a pint or two. What a great end to lock down !

Been called out... won't  hear much for a while now...lol

This offer and similar have been made several times over the last couple of years. He always goes to ground, refusing to engage, in the same way that he did when offered the chance to talk to club officials re ground move/developments.

But the alleged prohibitive cost of entry (anyone know how much entry is for OAP's at Falmouth?) is only one of a whole list of reasons that he has given; wrong day, wrong time of day, wrong weather, too far to travel, too much rubble near the entrance, etc etc etc.

And yet he is an expert on all matters Falmouth and football in Cornwall in general without actually seeing any of it. Easy to sit at home and criticise when you know nothing.

Dear BIG AL, when you retire from the forum could I inherit your name please? Nobody ever offers me a lift to the ground, free entry, free beer and £20-00! And, as an advantage, I’m a really miserable sod too!

No wonder, you are on a huge salary!
