BIG AL
Here we go again - a few hours rain, the grass is wet so no football can be played I I wonder if the refs do not like getting their feet wet !

Tom Trust
Illogan RBL 2, Liskeard Athletic 3 HT 2 - 2 Cracking game, Tim Nixon got both of Illogan's: a 1 yard tap-in and a brilliant inside-the-far-post-from-the-opposite-corner-of-the-box job. He really is a talented player. Winning goal a rather dubious penalty. Illogan had a good shout for one late on, but they'd had enough chances to win the game over the 90 minutes, so a good 3 points for Liskeard - who have known far better days! When did Illogan and Liskeard last meet in a competitive match? Anyone know? Repeat: a cracking game.

Guest
When did Illogan and Liskeard last meet in a competitive match? Anyone know? I would say in the 1978/79 season unless a cup game has popped up in the mean time.

The Windmill On The Shirt
Falmouth 1-1 Torpoint Falmouth went 1-0 up through Glen Squires, when he,was put in by Sam Bromley om the 33rd minute and just shaded the first half. In the 2nd half, Torpoint played a lot better and went 1-1 on the 57th minute when Josh Burton fouled Tyler Elliot in the area and Sam West converted the penalty, in off Jason Peters. Burton then got sent off for a 2nd yellow card after a foul on Ben Waters in the 80th minute. Torpoint had another penalty on the 90th minute when Jason Peters fouled Tom Whipp, Peters got a yellow card, should of been a red card! West's penalty was saved by Peters, who went from zero to hero. MOM Tyler Elliott - Torpoint.

TheolderIgetthebetterIwas
Remember this Al, the weather travels from us down here in the west, up to the callington area, so, think about this.....it clears us but not them for another several hours afterwards. We have glorious sunshine, but there its still piddling down....logical. See how many games are cancelled down west compared to the Plymouth area. Its the same South coast to North coast in Cornwall, think weather patterns. Why rip your pitch up with 20 games left and 25 Saturdays to play them in ? BIG AL
The point I am making is that games are being called off just because the grass is wet and perhaps one puddle of water. To me it appears that there is more emphasis on calling it off that attempting to play it. Just because it is wet underfoot is no reason to call it off - it never happened years ago, but then of course there was not the reflective jacket health & safety brigade! SaintsAFC
Big Al we know the point you are making but you are not understanding that the pitch is too wet to play football on. It's not just wet grass... It's sludgey underfoot, hence "pitch waterlogged" Callingtons pitch is renowned for being a bog. Same as St. Dennis is, can't be helped... Get over it.
