Ilfracombe 1v0 St Blazey. Att.68 including 20 away fans.

Sam Clifton booked in the first half for kicking the ball away. It was knocked back a yard at best. Later in the half, St Blazey awarded a free kick, loose ball smashed away yet no yellow card.

St Blazey, although it was 0v0 had Ilfracombe camped in their own half until Clifton then stuck a leg out trying to intercept a ball and caught a Ilfracombe player. Second yellow and the game completely changed. Ilfracombe scored late on to take the 3 points.

3 points dropped, let alone 1.

Frustrating day.

Falmouth home on Wednesday. Kick off 7.45pm.

There is no offence of "kicking the ball away".

The offence is either dissent by action or delaying the restart of play.

Not enough info to compare the two as there are some variables to consider as to whether dissent was shown or play was delayed but worth saying that kicking the ball away won't always result in yellow card, every time.

That said, the clampdown on deliberate and impactful time wasting is no longer a new initiative, so any player still playing silly beggars, more than halfway through the season, are basically wearing a bright neon sign asking the ref to book them.

It’s no longer an initiative. Lasted about 3-4 games and I haven’t seen a referee locally, or at the top level attempt to clamp down since.

Not that we deserved anything from last weeks game Paul but had the referee spotted even half the off ball stuff last week the game probably would’ve changed last week aswell lol 😂 however these refs with the new time wasting rules are so inconsistent with it it’s becoming unbearable so feel your frustration

Off the ball stuff? Surely they are watching where the ball is to catch the fouls? Maybe players should act like grown ups for once and stop the off the ball rubbish and concentrate on playing football? Just an idea.mightbhelp the results

Top 5 now looking to take shape but are Buckland starting to get a bit worried about finishing in the playoffs,or do you think there are a few twists and turns still to happen.

Helston, Bridgwater and Falmouth all hitting form at the right time with Clevedon stuttering quite badly. Know there is quite a disparity in terms of games played, but only 8 points separates 4th placed Falmouth and 10th placed Street. Still a lot of football to be played in this very competitive league, can still see the title and play off places going down to the final weekend.

Buckland for me have a must win game next week against Bridgwater to stay in the hunt simply because of the games in hand of the teams around them Falmouth and Barnstaple have 5 & 3 games in hand and only 2 points adrift even Bridgwater who are 8 points clear of them have a game in hand, for me my top 5 will be Helston,Bridgwater Falmouth clevedon Barnstaple.as for the winner I’ll stick with the team I choose at the beginning of the season Bridgwater

Efficient display from Helston today. Pretty even first half, Buckland should’ve scored when a great ball from the left not put away but otherwise even Stevens at HT. Early penalty for Helston (stonewall) second half was complimented by an amazing cross field pass by Jordan Copp for Shepherd to emphatically finish, 2-0! Helston then managed the game out - performance of Champions? Maybe.

Agree with that, thought we just shaded first half & Helston the second. Yes, no complaints about the penalty, ref had no choice but to give it

Helston still for me to win the league . Seem to get big results most weeks.  Plenty of goalscorers.  Seem to be getting the best out of Jordan copp who lets be honest is playing below his level.
very interesting for the runners up. Maybe Falmouth can do it.

Helston now only have the league and Les Phillips Cup to concern them as well. Bridgwater and Falmouth still going in both the Vase and county cups.

Always the debate about games in hand versus points on the board as well, especially if we have another spell of inclement weather cancellations.

Yes, Jordan Copp can only be described as an enigma. Wonderfully talented player, who (by his own admission) doesn't really like football. Testament to Matt Cusack's coaching and management skills that he is seemingly getting the best from him.

I think that this season will go to the last few games and is still tough to call At the moment Helston have set the pace but they do have a lot of away games to play and some tough home games as well,Falmouth have a lot of games in hand but winning them is a tough call and still being involved in all the cups might be a step to far for them,Bridgwater of course are in a similar position to Falmouth being in all the cups only difference is they have points on the board in the league plus 5 of there last 7 games are at home which could make a big difference, clevedon have had a good season and in some respects have been the surprise package and I couldn’t say they won’t end up surprising us all and winning the title but they seam to be hitting a lack of form in the last few weeks but if making the playoffs they will be tough opponents, that leaves Barnstaple who have beaten helston this season but they have drawn 7 games which shows that all thou they are tough to beat its also been there down fall and will regret that at the end of the season.  Whoever wins it’s been more exciting this year with the playoffs an added bonus for a lot of teams plus our league might have a team playing at Wembley at the end of the season so all the best to every team involved may the best team win🏆
