Arthur Pearce Cup

Rosudgeon Reserves 0-5 Frogpool Reserves

Decent, solid performance against a well drilled Rosudgeon side.

With a couple of injuries, Craig Rothwell was up front and proved his worth after a well timed finish from an Ashley Johnson cross.

Johnson went onto score the goal of the game early in the second half, calmly guiding the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box after a Jack Froud cross.

Froud scored his ninth of the season with a well placed left footed finish that flew into the top corner after a Harry Payne cross.

Alex Prynn had a solid debut and was called into action a couple of times, and he duly delivered.

Nick Caulkin scored the fourth after a pea dribbler of a shout spun over the goalkeeper.

Charlie Martin, who had previously been sin binned for being a foul mouthed idiot, wrapped up proceedings with a cool finish.

Onto the next round.

Thanks Rosudgeon for the hospitality, see you again next week!

Man of the match: Ashley Johnson

Arthur Pearce Cup

Mawnan 6 lizard 2

After the heights of last week it's was a below par performance from us today for some reason never really got going, second half was a slight improvement on the first but we knw we can play better than what we showed today! Fair play to lizard as well who gave us a good battle in the first half with the half ending 2-2 I think if my memory serves me right lol. But a wins a win and we are through to the next round which we are happy about and I think we have Wendron in the next round who we beat in the final last year in this cup to win it so that will b a very interesting tie ?

Redruth 1 Frogpool 5

A sluggish first half saw Frogpool go in at 1-0 with a cute Kevin Smith finish from a Mike Rollason cross. Jack Mark Main bursting past 2 to hit the bar was a highlight. Redruth were the better isde and had chances to go in level. Second half came out and worked harder and got the second through Jack with a lovely celebration :) . The second was key as then went on to score through Kev and a textbook header from Martyn Jay from a Nick Lasseter freekick. Frogpool conceded through  Tim Edwards giving away a pen but went back to 5-1 with Jack unselfishly playing in Burt for his second. Man of the match was Lee Booker who made crucial saves at 1-0 and 2-0 to keep us in the game. Not a spectacle but 5-1 and still unbeaten in the league is a positive to take into next week.

PS Cup:

St Buryan Firsts 1-2 St Just Seconds

Both St Just goals from the clinical Tony Angwin. Buryan dominated second half but couldn't find an equaliser. Despite the 3 league gap, personally feel St Just wanted it more at the end of the day, it was their cup final.

Great hospitality from St Buryan as always. Right on. Beauty.

MOTM Luke May for St Just. He was right on.

Mariners 1 st keverne 2.mariners some how lost this game as are poor finishing returned after being deadly last 2 weeks!! Fair play to st keverne keeper who kept his side in the game, never thought we going to lose but gifting st keverne a goal gave them a real hope and they took it.Mariners had a penalty awarded but after a discussion involving the ref and home linesman it was over ruled for off side which was the turning point.credit to st keverne they took there 1 chance at the end to win it.mariners goal by douglas atkins.

2-1 at half time, we came out and scored a stunner to equalise! Very pleased with our efforts against what is obviously a very good, physically strong side. We had our No.10 in goal and were 2 other regulars missing, however fairplay to the lads that filled in with heart and energy and a great team spirit. Thanks for the game and hospitality afterwards, good luck in the next round. Our goal scorers: Tom Giles and Kit Johns.
