It will be sorry from Falmouth's point of view being anotherCornish club less in the Western League but on the other hand it should see a bumper Christmas and Easter fixtures with local rivals Helston. Desperately sad for The Ashes to suffer defeat in a match where the odds did seem stacked against them. Especially as it took the gloss off a successful, and incident packed season (both on and off the pitch). Hope they can keep the nucleus of this squad together and go again next time. Luke Gibbons Posted May 2, 2023 Report Share Posted May 2, 2023 Ashton & Backwell 4-0 Torpoint AFC Sure we'll get the usual report from @The Torpoint Massive but humbling last day of the season. A catch up of injuries and the end of season fatigue with our season extended by a week. A great win for A&B with their last game in the League as they announced their withdrawal from the Western League. I was seriously impressed by their striker, Kiton Jaiyeoba, who caused problems all afternoon. All in all, a massive run to end the season for us and a successful first season in the League.
