Here one week, gone the next!!

St Dennis 4v2 St Blazey

Another defeat but you cant knock the St Blazey players for giving it a good go after a mad 20 minutes seen them concede 3 in the first half.

But the sad part of it is the lack of commitment from players. Apparently let down by two players in the morning. I cannot understand how players can play one week and not the next and re appear weeks later. Its not like we are playing twice a week. Its a Saturday afternoon and thats it. Theres no thought for some to drop out to go bloody shopping these days!! It would be nice to see a bit more commitment from some to get a few results. A sign of the times or just the fact were having a crap season and its easier to give up and walk away??

At least the management are giving it a bloody good go to try and change things.

2019 cannot come soon enough!!

Don't feel isolated in that situation Paul, both Ludgvan and Sticker appear to be dealing with a situation where players have left and recruiting new ones will always be difficult when you are down in the league basement.
To their credit Sticker have fulfilled their fixtures using their second team squad whose players mostly play in the county junior leagues, but they are prepared to gain experience playing for the club.   Credit also to their manager for staying with them when it would be so easy to find an excuse to walk away.
Ludgvan should also be shown great respect for fulfilling their recent fixtures despite an earlier wobble after losing both the manager and their team to other clubs, and being advised by some to withdraw from the league, an option that was declined and showed a credible determination not to take the easy way out.
It's not easy losing week in week out, but we feel that the players who turn up every week, knowing that they could be on a hiding to nothing, are the true sportsmen who love their sport and are happy just to play football.
Apply the principal of "everything comes to those who wait " and the good times will return.

A very good listen. Good lad is Averers. Went school with him. What hes achieved at Sticker is unbelievable. The ground is one of the most improved in recent years and looks superb. Intresting to hear the issues with junior and senior football. Certainly not helping Sticker.

Can you see St.Blazey qualifying for this new league set up Paul? If it was done on facilities, pitch quality, Club members & Staff you would have no issues at all.

I do hope they can, we must have the founder clubs of Cornish football in the league, Penzance and Newquay are others that come to mind.

No one has any real idea of what postion we will need to be in to make sure we are in the league. Right now, third bottom, we are not good enough anyway. As you know, clubs can go from top to bottom in the space of a summer so its hard to tell what could happen right now. I cant see us finishing higher than 5th bottom now. Will that be good enough or will facilities promote us? Time will tell. With clubs struggling, i can see us be accepted purly because of numbers.

If the new league is going to be 'regionalised' Paul, surely the Plymouth based players will all stay & play more locally to where they live? Maybe a good time to approach a Hoops or a Gary Wheildon, to drive the club in a different direction ( upwards !! ) & try & attract better local players?

Like you have said previously Paul, the management obviously doing their best but look to be extremely out of their depth. A club of St.Blazey's stature, history, support, & facilities deserve a football team to be proud of.
