Helston striker Rikki Shepherd joins Tiverton Town

Been announced he’s signed for Tivvy on dual registration. Any idea who the main club will be? Potentially a big loss for Helston

You would certainly think so dave, but surely tivvy and helston mostly play on the same days so can’t see how a dual signing will work ! Will helston stand in his way of playing higher ? As tavi fan said who will be the main club ?

It doesn’t make any sense . He hardly coming back from injury and is arguably helston best player . So Duel registered and playing loads of games possible getting injured is odd move  

 Maybe it work the other way as well  and river Allen will play a few games for Helston come end of the season

That’s going to upset a lot of people - that along with the massive discovery that Helston actually pay a player. I wonder if it will catch on and other teams will start to do it too. Could be a massive headline for the next podcast. “Helston discovered to be paying a player - shock!!”

Shepherd scores goals, and has done for several seasons now, not surprised that he's been noticed. Deserves his chance at a higher club (even if if is on an occasional basis).Will focus minds at Helston on the need to get promoted, and how it will help them fend off approaches for their players from step 3/4 teams. Same goes for Falmouth as well.

Seems a bit curious that Shepherd would opt to make Helston his primary team when he has the chance to play at a higher level for Tiverton.

Maybe it is a show of loyalty though, in which case it should be applauded.

Might depend on what he's been offered, with Reuben moving on he's now not part of the rotation system and I'd imagine one of the first names on the team sheet and getting 90 minutes every week. Not sure what the circumstances are At Tiverton.

At one point Helston had no midweek games so dual registration could keep him more active. Totally agree about his loyalty, always a nice thing to see when an extra couple of pounds turns heads.
