cornishteddyboy
Illogan RBL Reserves 5-0 Lizard Argyle Illogan proved too strong for Division 1 outfit Lizard Argyle tonight. In front of a crowd of roughly 430 they dominated the early exchanges being much stronger in the tackle. mind you they were reduced to some long range shooting before they go in front on 21mins. A corner on their left is knocked into the middle of the six yard box for a strong header into the net gives the keeper no chance. illogan need to clear their goal-line with a header following a Argyle break. The game settles down to be a repeat of the first 20mins with Illogan again forced to try from long range. On 42mins the Illogan keeper kicks long to the edge of the Argyle box. The ball falls between two defenders before they can react Illogan nip in and chip the advancing keeper to make it 2-0. H-T Argyle have to clear their lines early in the half following a corner on the Illogan right. 54mins on the clock and it is 3-0 after Illogan break right, knock the ball over for a shot that is blocked but the rebound is poke in from 5yds. Two minutes later and the contest is over as Argyle lose the ball in the middle of their half allowing Illogan to break through. The striker sidesteps the advancing keeper and knocks the ball into the empty net from 15yds out. Illogan sit back a bit allowing Argyle to come forward and play some neat passing moves but the Illogan keeper isn't troubled. With 74mins on the clock a long Illogan ball on their right is knocked on into the box for a striker to volley the ball into the net, low, cross goal to complete the scoring. A few minuted from the end an quickly taken Lizard corner on their left is fired in but the keeper gets down to push the ball around the post. Match facts: Corners: Illogan 6-4 Lizard Fouls conceded: Illogan 13-10 Lizard Attendance: roughly

Charlie Farley
A great night at Penlee Park last night,2 good teams playing in the final ably supported by a very vociferous crowd. Congratulations to the young lady who won £60 on the 50/50 draw and thanks for your support everyone. Also thanks to Peter George for the presentation and his comments afterwards and to all the volunteer ground staff and helpers in the tea hut and clubhouse for making the night a success.Without their help this would not be possible.
