THEMAGPIE
Has anybody heard any updates on the new management at Penzance since John, Adrian and Craig have gone?
James_Wright
MANAGEMENT LINE-UP FOR 2023-24 Penzance AFC are pleased announce the new management line-up for the 2023/24 season as Ashley Waters (Manager), Craig Nicholls (Director of Football) and Matt James (Head Coach). The club is happy to announce the arrival of Matt James. Matt brings excellent coaching skills which are known to many in the district. He will lead the club's aim to improve our current squad, and bring through younger players to senior football. Ashley and Matt will concentrate on player and team development, whilst Craig will continue in his support, recruitment and organisational role. We will continue to recruit on and off the field to build a sustainable and successful club. CRD

I love all the modern names we give people in football now......manager..head coach and director of football Does the head coach have any other coaches and does that mean the manager isn't allowed to coach. Is the manager allowed to manage or is the director of football directing him. It's manager....and assistant manager........and meddler...usually a bloke with money(director of football) ......and always will be at this level mattelot, Tommy Matthews, Ian Pethick and 3 others 3

John Mead
Call them what you like, each has an important and defined roll to play, a strong desire to be part of PzAFC and to work together to achieve the agreed aims of the Club. There's really nothing else which needs reporting. cornishteddyboy, Tom Jacobson, Loop and 1 other

Dave Deacon
'Head Coach', 'Director of Football' - doesn't really matter to most of us if a club chooses to use these titles, but makes it look more organized for the players at the club. Footy follower
No..what they do Dave is make the head coach feel he has an important role.....the director of football feel he has an important role.....and to be fair....I guess that's not a bad thing The players on the other hand cdnt give a toss as long as firstly they are playing.....secondly they are winning enough and thirdly they pick up some money Good luck to Penzance though ⚽

As for 'Director of Football' - I would imagine this role might well differ depending on the size of the club and how many teams etc.
sportsman10
Why do teams need so many coaches and directors of football in that standard of football. ?? It’s ridiculous the players are not full time and you hardly need a director of football swanning around trying to look important . Just don’t understand it. Never heard anything so ridiculous. Both Ashley and Matt are two coaches who are at the top of their game. They bounce off each other. They know what they want and how to help the players. We’ve had 3 training sessions so far and they’ve got better every time. As of the ‘don’t want you involved in the running of the team’, that’s completely wrong. The respect Craig has of the players and everyone involved at the club and football in general is unbelievable. Nicks did a lot of the overseeing last year and he will be vital when it comes to selection, getting players in etc. Always seems to be your problem that you’re very quick to slag Penzance off. Don’t like it then don’t worry about it. Not even started the season and you’re having a pop. Dane
In a time where volunteers are hard to come by it’s great to see that Penzance have found some enthusiastic people to take them forward. All the best to them. Tommy Matthews, CRD, kevin richards and 5 others

Martin McHugh
Good luck chaps, a club with lots of history going forwards again, always great to see volunteers stepping in with enthusiasm, ignore the keyboard warriors, they probably don't understand the work that is required to get a squad together and compete each week. See you on the battle ground guys. MQx Ian Pethick, Mike Arscott, Tom Jacobson and 2 others
