Lanreath Withdraw

Lanreath have withdrawn from the East Division with immediate effect.  As a result of this withdrawal no clubs will be relegated from the East Division at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season and two clubs will receive a 'bye' in the cup competition.

Very sad to see the demise of a local club. Best wishes to our friends there who’ve done so much work behind the scenes to keep going.

Always enjoyed the drive there and a good village hall with bar facilities and the Match Officials always made very welcome.

Very sad that a village team that has always been a good place to visit despite the winter weather conditions that at times would blow you off your feet, should have to withdraw from the league.
There are times when it all becomes too much for the tiny crews that run these teams, and it's not before they fold that people realise what their neighbourhood has lost.
Good luck for the future Lanreath, lets hope someone wil take the reins and resurrect the club again before too long

Indeed. a great place to spend a Saturday PM. A real shame is this, remember the 2 x families in the main from way back who were the backbone of the club and like so many others when they have done their time no-one else wants to take on the graft. A massive pitch to referee on but many a fond moment of years gone by.

As everybodies already said, very sad to see a good club struggle, but I’m sure they’ll be back, again reiterates how important support for volunteers is. Best wishes to all at Lanreath.

Really sad news. A proper village football club that was always closely associated with the numerous Collins bothers. One of my brothers loved his time playing for them back in the very competitive Duchy Prem league of the mid nineties, when they narrowly missed out on a Cornwall Junior Cup Final .Was a really good stepping stone between the DJM and senior football.

Very, very sad,  spent many an afternoon reporting on and taking pics at the ground.  Was always welcome.  Not been there for a couple of seasons.  Great club, great people.  I am sure you will return.
