Premier Sixes Posted July 16, 2021 Report Share Posted July 16, 2021 To keep everyone in the loop The Duchy League fixtures will start appearing online next week, there have been a few technical hold ups that have delayed the release of the 2021-22 Full-Time site (WGS set up transitioning to full-time). There is a new issue that won't be resolved until Monday that will prevent fixtures being published (administrive permissions being allowed that are going to take 48-hours to process). There will be no automatic promotion or relegation. Bude 3rds and Lifton Res have withdrawn. Alturnon and Gunnislake First have been accepted into ECPL. Looe, Week St Mary, Foxhole and Menheniot Pilgrims have applied to Join Duchy League. The League Management Committee proposes that:- Due to 2 seasons being hit by Null and Void conclusion we did not see it fair to move teams up or down due to the lack of games played and have drawn up a new structure for the following season only so we can restructure the league going forward. We are to do away with Premier League and the leagues will be set up as Div 1 West, Div 1 East and Div2. Div 1 East – 14 Teams Div 1 West – 14 Teams Div 2 – 14 Teams The Winner of East and West League will gain promotion to ECPL. The Next 6 teams of East and West will Form the New Premier League for Season 2022/2023, Allowing for 2 team to demote from ECPL. The remainder of East and West will form Div 1 with 2 teams relegating to Div 2. The Winner and Runner Up of Div 2 will promote to Div 1. Div 1 East Div 1 West Div 2 Bude Tregrehan Mills Delabole Boscastle Holywell & Cubert Gunnislake North Petherwin St Merryn Biscovey St Breward Bodmin Queens Saltash Nanpean Boscastle Lifton Mevagissey North Petherwin Tintagel Gerrans St Mawes St Mawgan Southgate Gorran Lostwithiel Pensilva St Colum Major Grampound Dobwalls St Eval NorthHill St Dominick Lostwithiel Foxhole Calstock Polzeath Week St Mary Polperro Lanivet Looe St Cleer St Miner Menheniot Pilgrims There has been an ongoing issue setting the new 2021/22 Full-time site up and then waiting for the right administration rights to be added correctly. Paul Collings Posted July 23, 2021 Report Share Posted July 23, 2021 Presumably with Veryan and Padstow having withdrawn from the ECPL no team need fear relegation from the ECPL - nothing changes 😀 Combine this with St Piran withdrawals and goodness knows how many teams will taken from the Duchy by ECPL for 22/3 Looks like a sensible set up to get things back on course though, good luck everyone. If after you promote your 2 teams, the EC still has vacancies, any team can apply. The FA seem to be taking charge of these and deciding which teams to will be successful. I know Dan is doing his best but with just over a couple of weeks to the league starts I would have hoped that everyone could see how their season gets going. The FA only have an involvement in the filling of vacancies in NLS Regional Feeder League's and there is no vote at the AGM. For the ECPL, Duchy etc. vacancies are filled by election as per the Standard Code of Rules, a procedure which has been in place since at least 2002, and this is a matter for the AGM to vote on. As we stand today, and assuming that there is at least 1 promotion candidate from the ECPL to St Piran, the ECPL will have at least 1 vacancy at the end of the season. Understand that but could still be the thin end of the wedge although I think that unlikely. Two points. It would have been nice if the FA had made public it’s intentions to take control of vacancies and there are still no obstacles to any team applying for a vacancy in a feeder league. So locally Combo, Trelawny, EC and Duchy could do so plus any new teams created by any of the bigger/wealthier clubs or indeed anyone. Still think it will lead to a lot more resentment.
