St Day 6 - 0 Mount Ambrose (h/t 0-0)

A much closer game than the score says, but its about taking your chances and that is something that St Day did better than us, they deserved the win and have got a good team there 6-0 a bit flattering with a couple of lucky goals, but we never really looked like winning once their second went in.

Good luck to St Day in the next round

Troon 2nd's 0 Penryn 3rd's 3

The boys did me proud today against a side full of ex combo players, and a few potential ones.

As usual the wind was blowing up troon, but the rain held off, playing on the main pitch certainly helped both teams try and get the ball down and try and play a bit of footy.

The first half ended 0-0 and to be honest i thought we might have a go for it in the 2nd half, but penryn scored a early goal, and then were never really troubled after that, not sure of the goal scorers for penryn, no doubt kirk will add them later.

All in all they deserved the win, but i'd just like to say that my lads done excellent today, and have come a long way since the hammering we took v mawnan...keep it up lads.

All the breast to penryn, who will be there or there abouts in the later stages of this competiton.....great outfits too lads!!

Falmouth Albion 1-2 St Newlyn East

Falmouth Albion had the better of the play first half. Should have been a goal up after 10 mins but linesman disallowed for handball after Ref gave a goal!!.

Albion eventually took the lead.

St Newlyn East equalised 2 minutes before half time with a great cross shot.

Albion were under the cosh for most of the second half but looked like holding out until SNE scored with 3 minutes to go and held on for the victory.

Good luck to ST Newlyn East in the next round.

Goonhavern Athletic (ML1) 1 - 0 Stithians (FHL2)

Half time 0 - 0.

Jake harvey and Ben Ambrose sent off after final whistle.

This is not the 1st time this ref has had a mare, infact every time we have had him he has lost control of the game and gets a semi every time he dishes out a card! Very poor.

Take nothing away from Goonhavern though, we wish them well in the competition :)

st day vs mount ambrose was close in the first half with the saints just not firing in the penalty box, second half completely different scoring in the first 30secs, only say i had to make was a one on one straight after that apart from that mount ambrose never really looked like scoring, and 6-0 wasnt really that flattering there were two other chances that hit the woodwork from sta day and quite a few wayward shots

Falmouth Albion 1-2 St. Newlyn East

Sorry guys but the better team won over 90 mins. Our keeper hardly had a save to make whereas Albion's was at full stretch at 3 or 4 times. We should have been 2 up before Albion scored.

The "goal" was rightly disallowed because the Albion player contolled the ball with his arm setting it up to score (even their players admitted this at the bar in the Rugby Club after).

Second half Newlyn were the better side (their managers view too). Bit harsh to say our first was a shot/cross as it was the best goal of the game and Denty definitely shot at goal.

Good luck to Falmouth for the rest of their season though. Good bunch of lads. Nice to venture down west on a Saturday!

:D Perranporth 9 Marizion (?) 0

Solid performance from Perranporth Reserves again.

Sorry to say it could have been alot more but for missed chances and some strange decisions by the refs assistant for the away side (in both halfs)

Kappa can prob help with scorers if he reads this.

Bring on round 2 - whens the draw?

lanner 0 falmouth town 6

Result was a not a true reflection of the game. lanner were right in the game first half only 2-0 at half time with both goals being offside even falmouths forward said they were . 2nd half not so good for lanner some soft goals given away. good luck 2 falmouth in next round . lanner 2 look 4ward 2 getting back into league games.

Hmmmmm.

Excellent goal by Denty - didnt mean to down play it, meant he shot it across goal and was great finish.

We all have our opinions but dont think any of our players felt it shouldnt have been a goal.

Big top of the table clash against Penryn next week to shake it off.

Robartes 4 Hayle 0

Just like to add that the young ref that we had for this game (Liam Mankee) did a superb job, one of the best we have had. Just thought i say what a great job he did as refs are recieving a few negative comments.

Well done Liam :clapper:

Penryns scorers

Ross Bowden 2

Gavin Boon

Playing against the wind first half we should of went in at half time 5 nil up. We missed clear cut changes and in a different game it may of cost us.

All in all we got the result we went there for and were in the hat for the next round!!!!!!!!

Referee was a lovely chap i may add.

Great setup at Troon with the combo pitch looking tip top.

Mullion (FHL2) 1- Illogan (ML1) 6

Much closer game than score line suggests. Took the lead and went in 1-1 at half time. We ran out of steam last 20 mins because of all the hard work we put in the 1st half. Well reffed. Got plenty of bruises from the late challenges but same for both teams. A good honest football match.

Illogan boys stayed for a few beers afterwards. Good luck to them for rest of the cup.

Totally agree, the scoreline was a little flattering, we didnt play particularly well but got the result in the end & fair play you caused us a few problems & could of had a coupe more goals.....guy who hit the crossbar late in the 2nd half cracking strike.

Scorers for Illogan
