  1. Our secretary has just sent me the link to this document and it is scary to see what is needed to host a game of football when we re start. If anyone is just looking at the summary points that are well known (no changing rooms and spectators etc.) you really need to read this document!!!!! 😮😮😮 ....if any one has any suggestions for socially distanced pre match warm ups please let me know!!!!!!
  2. Just one problem! What if you weren’t in the ECPL last season?
  3. Listening to Phil Hiscox talking about reasons for suspending the SWPL with Dave on the Podcast last week was execellent and would recommend it. When he talks about the actual practicalities of hosting and ‘policing’ games he makes it very clear the difficulties all clubs now face at all levels in putting on a home match. I think there might also potential punishments for not adhering to theses new FA guidelines which I’m sure all clubs want to avoid! Jiggy, St Newlyn East
  4. Guess this means we will have beautiful dry Saturdays with no rain or wind for the next 2 weeks! 🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼 Seriously tho - Stay safe everyone!
  5. St Newlyn East 2-3 St Stephen A very close game with the visitors taking the points thanks mainly to the game’s best goal and moment of class from Ben Rosevear in the first half. Newlyn’s striker lost possession and the ball quickly found Rosevear whose turn and finish opened the scoring. St Stephen we’re the better team in this half - our 6 weeks without a game showing - closing and pressing as a unit. Newlyn stated the 2nd half brighter and deservedly equalised from Matt Toms only to see them quickly concede from a corner. The 5ft 6 Toms somehow found himself marking St Stephens 6f
  6. Roche v St Newlyn East - OFF. Referee decided pitch was unplayable following pitch inspection just before KO.
  7. Polperro 4-1 St Newlyn East Nobody who saw this game could argue that the final score line didn’t reflect the game and flattered the hosts who were in a close game that could have still gone either way until the 87 minute. We hit a post and had chances to score before opening the scoring on 28 mins from Lee Paxton. Polperro equalised just 4 mins later when a rash challenge from our keeper gifted Polperro a penalty to reply from. Polperro scored early in the second half to go 2-1 up when a long ball over the top was converted. Both teams had opportunities to score but
  8. Newquay v St Newlyn East has been postponed. Newquay’s floodlights still not working.

  10. St Newlyn East 0-0 Foxhole A below par performance from Saturday’s win for Newlyn with Foxhole probably the happier side with a draw. Neither side really threatened to break the deadlock and Newlyn were left ruing some late one on one’s that they should have finished. Foxhole also had a late opportunity to snatch all points. Unfortunately both sides were left ‘in the dark’ when referee Tootle called the game to a halt for bad light with concerns for player safety in the diminishing light with 10 minutes plus injury time still left to be played in the second half. Not sure
  11. Just my personal opinion.... I thought overall we deserved the win in what was the first of 3 tough opening ECPL fixtures for us (Foxhole and Mt Gould our next 2 league games - ouch!). We were the better side in the first half and deserved our three goals which possibly should have been more if we had taken our opportunities - the second a great goal starting with our GK and no St Dom player touching the ball before we scored following a fine move down the right culminating in a header from close range. We lost our CB at half-time to injury which changed the game even further for the seco
  12. St Newlyn East 1-4 Stoke Climsland Deserved win for the visitors today against an out of sorts home side who produced without question our worst performance of the season Stoke came with the bare 11 and outworked and outplayed us in every position, winning all first and second balls. 5 goals in the game with only 1 goal for each team of any real quality. Am trying to find something positive about our performance today but am really struggling. Time for a glass of wine I think.... Congratulations to Stoke Climsland - good luck in the next round. Jiggy, Manager
  13. Weds 8 April Kilkhampton v St Newlyn East at Bodieve Park, Wadebridge 7.30pm KO,
  14. Game Off - Stoke Climsland V St Newlyn East is off. We offered to reverse the fixture to ours as Stoke still have to come to us in the league and our pitch is good to go - even with a later KO - but this was declined by Stoke!
  15. Yes we have. We were told it would happen this week at latest. It’s just over 2 weeks until the first semi is provisionally booked to happen and nobody knows!!!! Players who work shifts are asking as they need to book time off etc. Not good enough for a County Competition...
  16. Not being funny but how hard is it to organise someone to draw four balls out of a bag! Can anyone shed any light on when the draw will be made......
  17. Don’t think Rubber Duck was intentionally throwing dirt around Ben. All of our players play week in-week out for us and are available for selection every Saturday. His point was more about players playing just because their normal higher league team doesn’t have a game or are cup-tied for Senior Cup and are brought in at the expense of normal players , one assumes, simply to help them get a result. Agree with your report that it was a fairly even contest with both teams not taking some golden opportunities. The lack of ‘pretty football’ also wasn’t helped by your U16s only finishing thei
  18. Polperro 0 - 1 St Newlyn East The game was settled by a Ross London winner late in the second half. Newlyn deserved winners on the day. Mom for Newlyn was Cam Buchanan for winning his battle with Polperro’s Luke Cloke.
  19. We charge the same £5 for match fees Kier (£2.50 if a player is a student or not working) but charge nothing for training atm.
  20. We were informed that as of this current season there is no direct link anymore.
  21. Polperro Res v St Newlyn East now being played on Saturday 8th February as Polperro 1sts are already fixtured to be at home on 15th and 22nd February in St Pirans.
