FA Vase, 2nd Round Proper - Saturday Nov 22nd 2014

Well done to Bodmin, the better side on the day. They kept Blazey at arms length for the first 60 minutes or so and pressured Blazey into making mistakes for the first 3 goals.

The first was a quick throw in which caught the Blazey defence out. Crossed to Carter at the back post for him to head home. The second was Blazey losing the ball in defence, eventually making its way to Carter to smash home, off the underside of the bar.

After half time Carter got his hattrick after Chitty slipped when attempting to chest down a simple cross. The ball squirmed through to Carter, who seems to have a knack of being in the right place at the right time. The fourth was a well worked effort.

At this point we thought it was over and done. Bodmin had bossed the defence and midfield and given Blazey very little. Things were made worse when Ray Spear was shown a straight red for slapping the Bodmin player that had just slid in on him. It was nothing more that a slap on the shoulder but the referee decided it warranted a red card. However the resulting free kick was scored directly by his brother Aaron from a good 25 yards out wide.

Shortly after Coombes was sent through and made it 4 - 2. Broomfield was then put through with a great chance to score but somehow passed the ball tamely at Miller in goal. At this point, despite being down to 10, Blazey were dominating.

Then Ryan Swain went in a bit hard on a Bodmin defender. He received a talking to, and appeared to be running back into position when suddenly a red card was produced. I honestly don't know what happened, I can only imagine bad language.

After that, Blazey pushed for a third but didn't really create any great chances. Eventually Bodmin broke into the area and had man brought down. Eventually Tornado was shown a red card, again I have no idea what for, he certainly wasn't involved in the foul so presumably language again. Penalty was duly scored and the final whistle was blown.

Very good report SteveM - well done to Bodmin and good luck in the next round.I like you have no idea what the 3 reds were for and would be very frustrated if they had meant us losing the game. Truth is though we werent good enough today especially in the first half (ironically we seemed better when down to 10! ) Credit also to Adam Carter although he benefitted from some poor defending you still have to take them!

Oh well onwards and upwards.Im sure the ref must have some good games!!!!!

What a lash up. Crap draw and turned out to be a shocker. Disappointed but still showed a good effort even with players disappearing left right and centre. Funny enough we scored twice and had two great chances after that with only 10 men. Decent run in the cup. Can't say there was much between the sides today. Saltash away Wednesday to sort things out.
