I dont think Threemilestone is the correct place to build it, but it would have to be close to Truro college as they will stump up some of the cash to build it? 100% of me thinks that it will never happen because alot of members of the public cannot and wont see or listen to the bigger picture. :c:

Your right lee mate!I don't mind public money being used as long as some of the facilities will be available for local communities which sounds like they will be and as a multi purpose stadium could attract some top level entertainers to Cornwall for shows and or concerts!

In these times of economic meltdown how the hell can anyone reasonable person suggest public funds be used?

I agree with you chairman,no public funds also this is tipical Cornwall Council, the A 390 is already a jam up every day, by the time they Build the shops & Houses at the Park & ride Ruondabout Threemilestone, the Maiden Green farm & the old Richard Lander School the road wil become just Like the M25 gridlocked for most of the day, those of us who have try & get out onto the A390 or to travel along it know only to well how bad it is now, & the Council have no plans on how to overcome the extra Traffic problems that will be caused by all of these proposed Building plansIf the Pirates want a new STADIUM, find somwhere nearer to Penzance.

Same old nonsense being spouted by the pro-stadium brigade.

If the Cornish Pirates or Cornwall RFU want or need a stadium, then let them pay for it. Neither Truro City or Cornwall FA need a stadium, both are far too small to warrant one of more than 2,000 capacity and most SWPL grounds can already accommodate that amount.

Eden Project and Tate Gallery are tourist attractions that combined see over 1.5m visitors a year and are of benefit to the county as a whole. S4C would not see 1.5m fans in 100 years and would be a drain on the public purse.

There is no argument for public funds to be wasted on S4C, Cornwall Council is already upto our necks in debt, staff are being sacked, services are being cut, money tight. If the Cornish Pirates, who seem to be more in need of S4C than anyone, actually want to cough up, then great, build away.

Why should Cornwall remain a backwater - a third world county when it comes to stadia? Is there another county in the country, apart from Rutland, which doesn't have a stadium which can cater for a minimum of 10,000 spectators? We need to look to the future - to our grandchildren's future and be bold.

hell yeah, lets knock one up just cos we're the last county not to have one. Lets have a massive theme park as well cos Flambards isn't big enough and there's Thorpe Park, Alton Towers and Chessington World of Adventures in other areas.

Don't think we have a prison anymore either, lets create one of those, after all, Devon has one.

Create things by all means if you need it, but not just for the sake of it, and certainly not with tax payers money.

I have always been against a S4C but in favour of a 6000 max capacity Stadium for Truro City built by Truro City when finance is available, constructed with community facilities located under the terracing, in the meantime TCFC need to have a plan B.

The other day I thought I would attend a London Wasps Premiership rugby game, they play just a mile from my home, I soon changed my mind when I saw the prices ranged from £16.50 standing behind the goal to near where I prefer to sit at £56.50. I decided to watch it at home on SKY or maybe it was ESPN. how many Exeter Chiefs fans will pay those prices when they visit Adams Park later this month. There are no concessions for OAP's.

What's the conditions?

1.that Truro Football Club rise again and get into the Premiership.

2.that Illogan Park and Veor make it to the Rugby Premiership.

3. that Pendeen Silver Band get a Number 1 hit single and can sell out the stadium 6 times a year.

4. and that Isaac Rosenberg of the 'Peoples Socialist Republic of St Just representing the 'avers and grafters, tin streamers, cobblers. artists, fishermen, broccoli cutters and poets of West Cornwall' stands in the next general election, then gets elected, joins a coalition government, gets made Sports Minister and appoints Vidal as Chief Executive of the Stadium for Cornwall and Jon Roberts as the company secretary.

That's it then - they're going to build it.

Sounds good to me, Mauler.....Vidal was just canvassing me for the job on Tuesday night.

Glad to see that the spirit of all the groundwork I put in at Truro College raising the money that funded the meteroric rise of the Tinners is still alive and kicking ! :)

Moreover, one of the earliest winners of the college's Fantasy Football League is now Director of Quality !
