  1. Haven’t been on the forum for a while - rather than Bodmin issues would be nice to hear some positives about Camelford. Reg has lost players to Southern and Western league - plays with a’small budget’ but still finds players who compete for him - it’s not always about the money - some players play for the club - Up The Camels. (signing off again)
  2. John - if I’ve said something to upset you or your team, it was unintended. My point was that imo East / West are no different both have teams that can compete against each other - and you can’t judge it on one game - as some comments have suggested. I won’t respond on you other points, we are all to our own views - feel free to have a chat when hopefully our two teams play lol ps - my last post on the forum
  3. Shaun - fairly certain you have the right person. Credit where it’s due - you guys have turned the corners- without disrespect to former managers - right people get the right results.
  4. Quicksilver - I know what you are saying as the West best team got beaten by an East team, so easy comparison. But looking at the East There are 4/5 decent team and in the West two are standing up but you can’t compare leagues on one game. Torpoint will win the East - yet a weakened Camelford beat a full strength Torpoint 5-0 with ease in a pre season (for what pre season is worth) - my point is more that one league - a proper SWPL League would. be equally competitive with both East and West.
  5. Good spuddling - but a big difference in a cup game. All non Falmouth fans knew there would be a day when Falmouth didn’t perform and their opponents did - Falmouth still a great team and imo put the top 5 in West against against top five East and the West is stronger - shame the restructure of league a few year ago didn’t allow that to be tested.
  6. Camelford 0-2 Callington First half saw Callington win every 50/50 tackle and they were the team who wanted it far more - I would say Camelford played poorly but I must give credit to Callington - they have definitely turned a corner - well organised / coached and a team that work hard for each other. Callington scored direct from a corner - how that happens? Camelford had one chance to level from a header but cleared at a scramble. 0-1 HT Second half saw Camelford totally dominate possession but created no real chances - and when pushing everyone forward for the equaliser where caught with a last second break to concede a quality finish and loose 0-2. Neither goalie actually had anything to do all game and I can’t have any complaints with Callington taking the points - in total Camelford created two chance and Callington created one and a soft goal. There are a few Camels played who hid against a team who wanted it more. Callington have massively improved - nice to actually say their coaching staff were great today and they have built a good hard working team with some quality players - good luck to them. Camels seem to have lost the mojo over the last couple of months and will need to pick it up against Liskeard next week.
  7. Dave - Glyn’s comments on your podcast were telling - hopefully he (and his team) will select players from a lot of teams - bottom line is we won’t all agree (as he said), but a good range of clubs would be nice and ensure good support.
  8. Guys - it’s all opinions, all the players mentioned are very very good. It’s easy to be a great striker in a team who give you opportunities or a great goalie behind a great defence etc etc. It’s also great to see supporters appreciating their teams players - we all do. The cream always rises to the surface - so leave it to the players to perform and entertain us and see where they end up when the have finished - all those mentioned will, if they push themselves have great stories to tell - just ask Rappo
  9. Rappo - Camels have thrown away too many points recently (mainly due to player unavailability) to look at second place. The aim was top 5 and that is still realistic - between them St Blazey, Wendron and Dobwalls for that, so no complaints from me. Having seen all the league teams play Liskeard deserve 2nd - although they have a tough remainder of the season, good young team, who if they stick together will be a real force next season. I was impressed with St Blazey’s young players (a bit naive at times across the back against pace) but plenty to work on - with the players they have recently lost and Jordy not playing was a huge loss, which cost them the first half and in reality the game.
  10. After the disappointment of the Camels game being cancelled - took in St Blazey v Liskeard. Game if two halves. First half Liskeard were outstanding against a disjointed St Blazey. Scored three goals and probably should have been 4 or 5. St Blazey did score but against the run of play. HT 3-1 to Liskeard. Second half was all St Blazey who scored one and had a contentious goal disallowed for a ball having gone out of play prior to scoring. At 3-2 it looked like St Blazey would score an equaliser but some great blocks and saves kept them ahead and they scored on the break right at the end to seal a 4-2 win. Good game for the neural. Max had a great first half for Liskeard but second have Brokes dominated proceedings, however for me the mom was the young right back for Liskeard - real quality young player who matched anything Liam or the St Blazey strikers threw at him. Great day for the CCFA - loads of cards issued, some seemed harsh compared to other unpenalised incidents - but when he let the game flow I thought the man in the middle had a very good game.
  11. Great to see some representative football being played again, it’s been a while. Well done both FA’s and management teams.
  12. Jeff - whilst every team will play Falmouth as a ‘cup final’ to get the honour of beating them - looking at the remaining fixtures - and meaning no disrespect to other team - having watched them all play only Liskeard, St Blazey, Dobwalls and perhaps a strong Bodmin have a chance of taking any points off Falmouth and in reality you only need to drop 6 less points that Liskeard (who have a lot of hard games left) to be certain of promotion. I am assuming the F Troop have already looked a travel options next season lol. Will be a loss for the rest of us who enjoy the F Troop - and a ‘surprise’ for a lot of Western League teams.
  13. I think ‘eligibility’ rules come in to play in the next round - although in fairness I think all of the players mentioned at Bodmin will have played more than enough games.
  14. Paul - was a bit St Blazey centric, but totally appreciate your interest was their attacks - always good to see highlight in any case, wish more clubs had the volunteers to do it. Was a good game - draw would have been fair with both teams missing chances - but Chappers and your penalty takers did the job. Good luck in the next round - would be a good Cornish tie if Falmouth get through - two of the biggest clubs in the County - and having beaten the Camels you now have my support lol
  15. Guys - it would of been a great festive match, but the league will have made the decision to accept the postponement and are probably one of the few with the actual facts - Phil Hiscocks tweet (I know not the same league but same rules) - is very telling. Two great local teams and I hope both continue to fly the Cornish flag and their players / staff / volunteers and supporters stay safe. The game will hopefully still take place - leave the talking to the football pitch and have a great Xmas.
