Trelawny League - Weds 4th April

Recommended Posts

Thought I’d start this topic simply because our (St Just Reserves) game vs Newlyn Reserves tonight has just been postponed. We have tried to contact Newlyn to say we could host the game (both yesterday and today) but heard nothing back as of yet.

Quite a few games on tonight too, hopefully they stay on!

Division 3
Holmans Reserves 0-2 Frogpool Reserves
We some how found ourselves 1-0 up going into half time despite the worst performance I’ve seen from our boys in recent memory. Tom Campbell scored a ridiculous top corner free kick from twenty yards out.

Second half we looked much the better side, Holmans never quite breaking through our back four, who were outstanding all game, along with goalkeeper Alex Prynn during the match. Sam Macwilliam latched onto a Jack Froud pass before cooly slotting it into the bottom corner.

Excellently refereed by Paul Bellamy.

Man of the match: Tom Campbell.

Div 2

Fourlanes 2 Gwin 5

Went 1-0 up in first couple minutes with skipper gav russel scoring from quality build up play by Billy foster

Fourlanes then had a player sent off for shoving jack Elliot, was a bit harsh but we wasn’t going to complain.

Cameron Irish then scored a decent finish. Foster then scored a screamer from about 30 yards, half volley lob. Cameron then scored another decent finish.

4-0 HT

We then scored quickly after restart with Cameron scoring his hat trick with another decent finish. Fourlanes then scored a penalty, then scored again with last touch of game.

We deserved the win and take my hat off to the boys for their effort in the last 3 games, 3 wins on the bounce which was needed.

Seemed a bit like Fourlanes were more interested in arguing with referee and our boys than trying to turn the game around.

Overal a decent game! And a thanks to Anita for running our line.
