Mousehole Devs 4-1 Porthleven

Jack Symons x2.       ???

Kyle Fraser

Toby Weeks

Wasnt at the game as was travelling back from holiday but from what I’ve been told Mousehole not at their best today, 3 or 4 key players missing but still great result. Porthleven decent team and will cause a lot of teams problems so very happy to get 3 points on the board 👍

Porthleven Keeper kept the score line respectable, he was outstanding 👏

Doms 4 St Austell 2

The first team had the opportunity to bounce back yesterday with a win before a break in our fixtures.

We went ahead early on, Harvey Barrett nodding in Kieran Ryall’s corner for the opener. A brilliant strike doubled the advantage, Kieran Prescott picked up a loose ball, knowing the keeper was off his line, he expertly struck the ball from 40 yards into the net. A third goal came shortly after, some good build up before Alex Jacob placed the ball into the corner for 3-0. The visitors got back in though just before half time, a snap shot finish gave St Austell a lifeline.

The second half saw us create some good opportunities but a few inspired saves and a few squandered chances kept the score as it was until a burst into the box by Jacob saw him taken down. Barrett stepped up to take the penalty and converted for 4-1. The final goal of the game went to the away side, a dangerous free kick was flicked on and resulted in an own goal at the far post.

Many thanks to yesterday’s match sponsor Duchy Brickwork who choose Joe Discombe for man of the match on his full debut.

I also want to applaud the referee at Perranporth v Wendron that I went to watch yesterday. 3-0 to Wendron. At 1-0 the ball went through to the forward who was fouled about 5 yards outside the box, ball went backwards away from goal but ref played advantage and a short pass then set the other forward up to rifle home…great advantage Dave Rowe 👍

Polperro 5 St Mawgan 3

An entertaining if frenetic game at Killigarth saw Polperro race into a 3-0 lead at half time, only to face a second half onslaught from the visitors who we always struggle against. Pegged back to 3-1 we regained the 3 goal cushion before losing captain Sam Lane to a hamstring injury and then our other centre half to a second yellow (and pen). 2 late St Mawgan goals threatened us but the lads just about held out for the win. Goals from Cam Patterson 2, Jayden Gilbert 2, Sam Lane.
