Saltash 1 Clevedon Town 2

In short the visitors took the two chances that came their way and defended competently. Ashes had lots of possession and territory second  half, but created few clear cut chances or tested the away 'keeper enougjh.

Three quick home defeats to Mousehole, Exmouth and Clevedon. Too reliant on Sam Hughes up front? No reason for panic, but this display was particularly disappointing. I do think it will come right, but work to be done on the training pitch.

Looked promising at Cally. A couple of substitute appearances for the Ashes. Looked composed and potential clear to see.

Having watched him against Tiverton, and hearing comments after the came from Matt Wright even speaking about how good he was suggested at the time how good he was. A fine young player, who at the age of 16 look like he will become one of the best forwards in devon and cornwall in the coming years. But will coming off the bench so often with 5-10 minutes left help him?

Being around good quality experienced players in the dressing room will help him enormously and also playing a decent standard of football on the pitch, even if playing time will be fairly limited, I’m sure Dane will give him as many minutes as possible depending on how the game is panning out. I’d presume he’s still playing his youth football as well and will be banging in goals for fun in that so confidence will remain high so anything on a Saturday will be a bonus whilst learning a lot, watched the Tiverton game and would agree with Wrighty 👍👏🏼
