penwith 1 - 0 mabe

Top of the table clash down in penzance today that ended in defeat for mabe.  very windy conditions but played on a perfect surface the mounts bay school 3g pitch. I personally think there was not a lot between the two teams, I had 1 save to make and mickey flores the penwith keeper possibly the same.  with a combined goals scored this season being over 200 you would of thought this could of been a high scoring encounter but both defences dealt with everything nicely. the winning goal came in the 83rd minute when a corner whipped in met the head of the penwith defender who scored. penwith stay top by 5 points but mabe have 3 games in hand but with the return match in two weeks it could be an interesting end to the season in div 4.

Four lanes 5-0 St Agnes III

Game was reversed to clijah as chivvy was unplayable.

Four lanes dominated the first half, against the wind, and then a number of changes at half time, allowed St Agnes back into the game, with St Agnes offering more of a threat, but no real chances created.

Well reffed Tim Reeks.

St Agnes a great bunch of lads.

Madron res 5-4 mabe res

mabe scorers: Andy Julian (2pens) and Carl ferris (2)

madron wanted it a lot more than Mabe on the day, 1st to everything and disrupted our play when we tried settling down to play the football. Up and down game with the scoring, not teams having the lead on more than 1 occasion. 0-1, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4, 4-4, 5-4!!

strange through, went back to the pub where they said and nobody was there, even the barman looked a bit shocked when it was only a couple of the mabe boys who came back for the pizza and chips!

Trelawny League Division 4: Ludgvan Reserves 3-1 Falmouth Town

A commanding second-half performance enabled Ludgvan to maintain their 100% home record with a 3-1 victory over Falmouth Town at Fair Field.

Alex Miller put the visitors in front when his curling effort - assisted by the wind - wrong-footed the Hurlers' goalkeeper, Jonathan Fitchett, to drop into the net.

Ludgvan immediately went in search of a way back into the game but were frequently let down by the lack of a final ball.

They did, however, enjoy a sustained spell of pressure at the end of the first half which saw Jamie Leah come closest to an equaliser when his shot from the edge of the area came back off the right-hand upright.

The Hurlers looked much stronger after the interval and quickly drew level when Leah latched on to a ball in behind the Falmouth defence to guide it into the bottom corner.

Then, after some good work down the right-hand side from Ben Mills, midfielder Adam Fletcher gave Ludgvan the lead when his curling effort found the top corner, via a deflection.

And after Michael Fitchett was tripped in the penalty area, the midfielder got up to take the resulting spot-kick and send the Falmouth goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 3-1, enabling the Hurlers to comfortably see out the game and add a well-deserved three points to their tally.

Ludgvan Reserves: J Fitchett; Rowe, Lane, Matthews, M Harris; Mills (Barnett), Fletcher, M Fitchett, J Leah (J Harris); Hopkins, Wood.

Many thanks to Ludgvan for changing kit, as both sides were wearing yellow.

Enjoyable game to ref with both teams playing some good stuff at times.

Pendeen Rovers 2 v 0 Frogpool Cusgarne

Both Teams found it hard to play any football on a heavy pitch. The game sprang in to life on 37 mins when Chris Bullock put the ball in the back of the net from a fine move. Just 5 mins later a moment of madness from the Frogpool defender, who got himself sent off from a nasty knee to the back of Duncan Clemens, totally off the ball, stupidity which gave the referee no choice.

Half time 1 - 0

Second half, Pendeen started alot brighter creating a good dozen chances, Chris Bullock had one of the easiest chances, heading the ball over the bar from just 10 yards. Glen Carew also seen his shot hit the post and rebound out, Frogpool defended really well and rarely threatened the Pendeen goal. Pendeens' second goal came on 87 mins a goal mouth scramble led to Dominic Clemens scoring from 5 yards.

Full time 2 - 0

The pitch under the circumstances, held up really well. Wayne and I would like to thank The Pendeen ground staff for all their hard work throughout the season.

Ref for today Frankie Hood.

MOM:- Silas Sullivan.

Good luck to Frogpool for the rest if the season.

Match Result - Div 5

Newquay 4ths  3 - 5  Falmouth DC

Much Better Performance after some bad results , good result against a Young Newquay side who did cause us trouble !

Took the lead after some good work and pressure , but then Newquay pulled one back after good play by them selfs , but also not the best defending from us . Went in 2-1 up after good work down the wing with the ball getting played In and finding Jack Froud in the box with good footwork to find the back of the net .

second half - Newquay came out and put pressure on us and got a goal back from a corner going straight In with the wind taking it in to the top corner. A lot of pressure was coming at us from Newquay and could of took the lead but for the first time in a few games we worked hard and together as a team and kept it at 2-2 , after that we went up the other end and got a goal to make it 3-2 to us with a well played ball through the back 4 with our forward running on to it and scoring in to the bottom corner with the keeper coming out .

But again Newquay came back and made It 3-3 with a free kick out side the box going in to the top corner with our keeper miss catching it and it dropping In to the net but it was a well took free kick on target.

Again we started to move the ball and play football and that got us our 4th goal of match with a Top class ball over the back 4 from our LB playing in our forward Sam again to run in and chip the out coming Newquay keeper ,  outstanding goal to see! After that with only a few mins left we scored our 5th , coming from jack with this Second of the game to end a good performance !!!

Fair play to Newquay for giving us a good game. See you at ours this sat.

Goalscorers -

fred Tomlinson x1  Jack Froud x 2 Sam Heslop george x 2
