New Inn titans 4-3 fal United

After the nature of our previous meeting with new Inn. I felt it was more a MMA fight than a game of football but today was a million miles away from that. Goes to show what a respected and experienced ref can bring to a game. Some tasty challenges and a pen at both ends both were penalties. But nothing malicious or out of hand. We managed to go 3-1 actually taking our chances, something we haven't in recent games and something I hope we can carry on. But new Inn showed why they are running away with the league and battled hard upped their tempo forcing us to make mistakes. A own goal and a pinball moment finding the back of the net cost us. But we played a lot better today. A draw probably a fair result but again new Inn wanted it more. Nice to finish a game with hand shakes not agro from both sides. Going in for some food at the pub and actually staying longer than the home side which is good. Needed a pint or two after that game as I'm personally shattered.

Wish new Inn all the best and having a chat and a laugh with a few lads on the pub hopefully any bad bloody is a thing of the past and regardless of the result today they will be winning the league I think only 3 points away now.

Our goals came from

Hayden w 1 pen

Mike r 2

Callum B (OG) 🤣🤣

Plenty of positives to take in to the run in

Storm 1 st just 7

who do storm blame today? The ref? The linesman? The weather?

Nope we blame ourselves

Turn up with a bare 11 and have to sub the manager into goal after thirty minutes

at least we had a pint after and don’t have to do that drive again

apologies for not scoring five goals this week

I was shocked at no referee bashing from you this week.its quite refreshin

Mate I was too tired!!!!

to be fair storm could have had 13 men and a ref with a storm shirt on and we still would have found a way to lose today

cannot knock the effort of the lads who turned up mind

Titans 4 falmouth 3.

The home side knew 4 more points wraps this league up what more incentive do u need but it can also be a dangerous scenario and so it proved, titans were off it, they allowed falmouth to play it short from goal kicks, trying to cheat it a bit.

Titans were slow all over the park, too slow in possession. The home side were awarded a free kick and josh symons converted yet another free kick 1-0 Titans but not much in the way of decent football on show.

Another short easy out for falmouth then long ball over the top caught out the titans back line, skipper Barry penfold trying to make up ground with a covering tackle brought down falmouths wide man, penalty 1-1 top bin.

A free kick given away just inside the titans half, a long hopeful ball was met by falmouths number 11 who had a great game, 2-1 falmouth at the break.

Titans assistant manager Andrew symons made some changes to personnel and shape and titans didn't want to be turned over at home, they pushed higher not allowing falmouth an easy out forcing them to go long and winning the battles pushing onto falmouth, however trying to pinch a ball that didn't really need to be won the falmouth wide man spun his man got the ball in behind for the striker to round the keeper and slide into empty net despite matt Woodwards best  efforts to keep it out. 3-1 falmouth

The chips were down and it was time for the titans to show why they ran away with previous league and why they're top of this one, constant possesion and pressure, half chances finally the titans hit back with Johnny Jones getting his 1st of 2.

3-2 and pressure was unrelenting, from a corner a goal mouth scramble johnny Jones turned it goal wards the keeper ket it out but only for skipper Barry penfold to turn it home 3-3 and falmouth had crumbled

Nico Penfold got in the box and was chopped down upstepped johnny Jones to bag his 2nd squeezing it under the keeper, 4-3 and it could've been 5 but Barry pemfold was denied his 2nd from another corner adjudged to have climbed over his man.

a resilient performance,  important win. Titans for the title with 2 cups in sight
