Parkway uncertainty

Recommended Posts

Seems to be lots of news circulating regarding Parkway at the moment, some big names heading for the exit door for undisclosed reasons twinned with a unfavourable league position only add to the speculation, can anyone fill in the blanks regarding the player departures? Does Lee Hobbs have the backing of the board to get Parkway out of this baron run?
Im pretty sure they’ll be fine all said and done but this is undoubtedly the hardest period for Hobbs and his management team after experiencing great success.

I’m not sure what people are shocked about ?? The club sits at the bottom of the league the manager looked at the squad and decided it needed changing.
Mike and Kyle both great players for the club been magnificent through the years . But both would be first to admit they struggled this season with form and fitness and the step up has possible caught up with them.   . Both probably didn’t  fancy long  spells on the bench at their age  and decided to depart Happens every week up and down the contra at clubs.  .
lee got in a superb keeper from argyle and other new faces and team picked up a win

think people looking for more of a story then there is.

Giving the rapid rise of the club (from mid table step 6 to step 3 in 5 years), there was always going to be a blip at some point. Mikey Williams said in the summer that supporters (especially the newer ones) would have to get used to losing runs during the season, and Lee Hobbs said that keeping them up would possibly be his greatest managerial achievement. Two winnable looking home matches in the next week, three wins on the spin after the Yate low point (with the squad settling down), and the world will look a better place for Parkway.

I personally think Parkway will be fine, period of transition or maybe Hobbs thinks he needs to act now rather than when it’s too late

Footballs changed so much over the last 20 years, you have an average couple of months and you're out the door.

I think this lays at the feet of the manager, player recruitment and tactics have also failed parkway this season.

Also like to say, what's wrong with players attitudes? mid season holidays and just generally throwing toys out of the pram.kyle left because he didn't want to fight for his position.

Looks like the board are fully behind hobbs so hopefully they back him and he can have another shot at getting it right

Surely with the Club Captain departing a 1/3rd of the way through a season it shows there’s more to this?

Think it’s also fair to remember that Hobbsy was the man that got the club promoted up to this level of football in the first place! Think he deserves a season to find their feet at this standard, which is a tough league. Bit like the Forest situation, and they gave Cooper a new contract!! 👍👏🏼

Lee Hobbs is on a contract no chance he going anywhere.

Lee Hobbs has got a lot of credit in the bank after 2 league titles, 3 promotions and an FA Vase quater final in 5 (Covid interrupted) seasons, and deserves time to get it right. It's forgotten that they were drifting in mid table in the SWPL when he arrived.  No man is bigger than the club though, and (just as Hobbs has shown himself to be unafraid of making big calls on established players when he thinks their time is up) don't think the chairman will be afraid to act similarly when he thinks it's right for the club. Nothing personal, that's football.

I think Lee biggest mistake was letting Matt go and getting Karl back in.  Matt from what i understand was am excellent coach but him and Lee didn’t agree a few times on things where as Karl and Lee are old friends   I think sometimes having someone with a different approach and ideas to you  is a good thing

I still don’t see Lee leaving even if parkway go down. Unless he walks himself.

Reading in the Plymouth Evening Herald that one, possibly two, new signings are on the way.

They are also reporting that Mike Landricombe , who stated that he wanted to play regularly and more locally, is likely to join Tiverton. Guess that means that he could be back at Bolitho next Wednesday evening.
