Torpoint 1 - Roche 1

full blooded affair at the mill on a heavy pitch. Points shared probably the fair result.
lacking quality all over the park and it shows when we don’t have any in.

nanpean next week at the mill.

Hayle v St. Dominick

Good game I thought at Trevassick this afternoon, probably helped by Hayle twice taking the lead as most of us would have expected St Dominick to win and Hayle never made it easy for them by nudging in front twice.

Joe Carlyon will remember his goal no doubt as saw the St Dom keeper well off his line and scored from all but in his own half!

Lee Robinson, making a rare appearance for the visitors, notched a hat-trick for them!

Illogan 1, Falmouth Town 0

Close encounters of the usual kind. Very cold with a wicked sun shining towards the clubhouse at times. Neither side took advantage of it.

Element of luck about the winning goal in the 14th minute. One of those free-kicks from way out on the left wing that was lifted towards the far post but no-one seemed to get a touch which the 'keeper might have expected and the ball just fell sweetly for Illogan and went inside that far post. We've all seen them before.

Chance to increase the lead in the 29th - a soft-looking pen which the lad put not just over the bar but over the clubhouse as well! Just as well it didn't prove crucial!

Good three points for Illogan though Falmouth might have gone home feeling hard done by. Good entertainment for the money, just ruddy cold.

Some of the usual faces, though no Mona this week. Nice to catch a glance of Jeremy Eye - in shorts and flip-flops! I was sorry not to have had the opportunity to have a chat. Back in around 1977 he was one of my Redruth School U-12 5-a-side team which won Carn Brea's 1st Junior 5-a-side tournament. The team also included Ricci Pascoe of Bike Chain. Happy days!

Nice hot choc at half time, served in a chunky bright pink Mini Mouse mug! Brought a smile to a few faces, just part of the crack!
