Penryn 3-2 Mawnan

Penryn Scorers Kyle Cooke, Ryan Reeve, Jak Davies.

Penryn 3-0 & coasting after an hour, Mawnan made the last 10 mins nervous with 2 headers from crosses in the 2nd half but couldn't find the equaliser. Penryn missed a late pen & then mawnan had a player sent off.

Nasty clash of heads in the 1st half saw 2 players end up in hospital. Fingers crossed both are ok.

All around great derby game which had the lot.

MATCH RESULT

Rosudgeon 1st- 7 (Darryl Richards X3, Joe Mcmullen, Jevon Pryce, Tom Heywood, Jamie Lovelock)
St Day Reserves- 3

👑-Chris Neal (Rock soild midfielder don't lose a battle)
💩- Dan Hopkins (hard to find one, but inability to do a legal throw in has to earn him it)

On a warm Tuesday evening, the boys set a statement to those watching by dismantling a battling St Day side. Darryl Richards started the game with an absolute peach of a shot from outside the box which got stuck in the back of the net after beating 2 or 3 challenges, Joe Mcmullen then did well to find the room in the box from a good Jevon Pryce ball, Darryl then doubled his tally whilst Jevon decided to score straight from a corner. Near the end of the first half Tom Heywood found space in the box and headed another corner in to end 5-0 HT.

Second half, credit St Day they had a go but James Dark found some room down the wing squaring it perfectly for Darryl to complete the hatrick. Then a 5 minute spell of set pieces gave  St Day a life line with.a long throw in and corner being dispatched for 2 quick goals. Luckily Jamie Lovelock found a deep overlap and smashed one far corner to put the game to bed. St Day did get another shortly after when a corner wasn't dealt with but.

The game filtered out when bizarrely the St Day keeper got sent off for in a matter of minutes kicking out at lovers then, giving some nasty middle fingers to Darky🤷‍♂️. A strange decision but one that kicked the sails out off St Day and the game eventually finished 7-3.

The boys appreciate the support as always, a nice and calm crowd watching the match fixture, nice to see our local "village idiot society" out in force again
