A QUICK NOTE TO ANTHONY HOSKINGS AND TO ALL AT LUDGVAN AFC.

THANKYOU VERY MUCH FOR TODAY AND FOR THE HOSPITALITY AFTERWARDS.

TOTALLY UNDERSTAND YOUR FRUSTRATIONS WITH THE UNAVALIABILITY OF YOUR PLAYERS FOR GENUINE REASONS.

AND THAT OTHER CLUBS SEEM TO BE ABLE TO CALL GAMES OFF RATHER EARLY, AND YOU SEEM FORCED TO PLAY ON OR GET PUNISHED AS A CLUB

YOU GAVE US A GREAT GAME ON THE PITCH WITH A PATCHED UP SIDE AND YOUR PITCH WAS IN GREAT CONDITION. YOUR GROUNDS PERSONS SHOULD BE COMMENDED. !!BE CAREFUL THEY MAYBE SNATCHED AWAY FROM YOU!!!!!!

CERTAIN CLUBS SHOULD LOOK AT THE LIKES OF LUGDVAN AND TAKE A LEAF OUT OF THEIR BOOKS.

I SERIOUSLY HOPE YOU STAY UP IN THIS LEAGUE AND WITH YOUR NEW SIGNINGS COMING IN AND WITH THE HEART YOU SHOWED TODAY YOU WILL BE OK.

GOOD LUCK AND REGARDS

WINNO

( ALL AT HELSTON AFC )

RESPECT

A CRACKING GAME AT GALA PARK WAS A CREDIT TO THE COMBO LEAGUE. PORT WENT IN AT HALF TIME LEADING 3-0 WITH GOALS FROM TOM WADSWORTH, NICK PERRY & A OG. PORT INCREASED THEIR LEAD 19SEC INTO THE 2ND HALF, PERRY SCORING HIS 2ND GOAL. Penzance Reserves 0-4 Perranwell

Penzance were a much stronger outfit than the week before when they were totally outplayed by a rampant St Ives. This was a top versus bottom clash, a six pointer, but turned out to be entertaining game played in the right spirit and officiated by a ref who you didn’t know was there most of the time.

Penzance were strengthened at the back by Darren Ball who was replacing the missing Mark Grenfell. They had to hold a strong Perranwell at bay and did for the first quarter of the game.

Penzance have the first bit of goalmouth action when new signing Marcus Smith moves down the left, crosses to see the ball headed on by Perry Bullock inside the area and Sam Long firing a volley back across the box which no-one is running onto.

Both teams are playing some neat passing moves. Perranwell break down their right but the cross is sliced out of play.

Another Marcus Smith break sees him volley the ball into the keepers arms from 20yds out.

Perran quickly break down their right, cross, the ball is taken out of the air to be volleyed just to the left of the Penzance post. They then break again, shoot from 20yds but this time Damien Norman in goal for Penzance pushes it away and scrambles after it as a Perranporth player runs in to finish the move. Luckily the keeper manages to dive onto the ball.

After 14mins we see the save of the game as Penzance break once again down their right. The ball is pumped over, where once again Perry heads it on. Marcus Smith picks up the loose ball and from 6yds out lobs Dan Riley, the keeper, who makes a brilliant one-handed palm out whilst falling over backwards. From this Penzance get two corners which come to nothing.

But the tide of the match is turning and Perran step up a gear and start to dominate the midfield. Perry Bullock comes off to be replaced by a new signing for Penzance, Australian, Jock Britton. His name couldn’t be more Australian could it.

Perranwell break down their right and Matt Rose volleys just wide and this is the taste of things to come.

Perranwell’s first comes on 25mins. Perranwell break down their right, cross the ball in and Matt Rose, who drops a couple of paces off his defender, traps the ball, turns and volleys into the bottom of the net to make it 1-0.

As usual with Penzance when one goes in we let in another, and sure enough 4mins later Perranwell double their lead. Beforehand though Norman between the sticks for Penzance has to make a couple of diving saves. On 29mins Perranwell break and TJ Wilson, one-on-one lobs the keeper from 15yds to put Perran 2-0 up.

Penzance then manage to break but in a game of chase the Perranwell keeper beats Alfie Turner for the ball and dives on it.

Another Perranwell attack sees Penzance clear the ball off their goaline, but they succumb once again in the 36th minute when Perranwell cross the ball from left and Shane Selly heads in from 4yds out to make it 3-0. Perranwell pile on the pressure but Penzance hold out to half time. The Perranwell captain is booked for foul language.

H-T

Penzance’s passing at the start of the 2nd half is wayward and they are playing too deep inviting Perranwell forward. Darren Ball, who was Penzance’s Man of The Match, has to use all his skills to keep Perranwell at bay.

Perranwell have a couple of half chances to increase their lead but we have to wait until the 51minute. TJ Wilson gets his 2nd goal of the game with a nice bit of play. He works the ball down the left hand side of the pitch, cuts into the area, beats a defender and volleys a rising shot into the top of the net from 10yds out. 4-0 and will the floodgates re-open?

On 58mins Shane Rowe replaces Alfie Turner upfront for Penzance as Turner has a hand injury.

Perranwell get a couple of half chances from close in that are wasted. Next they try three times from 30yds out but they all go wide.

On 70mins Penzance substitute Sam Long with Adam Thomas. Perranwell also make a substitution.

Damien Norman miss kicks a ball on the edge of the box which goes straight to a Perranwell player who tries a volley from 40yds but it is wide.

Penzance have a break on but volley just wide from 15yds out.

Casey Adams is substituted for Perranwell on 80mins.

For the last 10mins Penzance come alive and put the Perran goal under pressure. Perran have one last attack from a corner and the ball is going in direct but Tony Riggall heads off his line to prevent another score.

Full Time

Penzance – Damien Norman, Jack Liddicoat, Mike Burt, Tony Riggall, Darren Ball, Zak Podd, Danny Michael, Matt Fox, Alfie Turner, Perry Bullock, Marcus Smith

Subs- Jock Briiton (for Bullock), Adam Thomas (for Long) Shane Rowe (for Turner)

Perranwell – Dan Riley, Dan Senior, Shane Selley, Huw Gibbon, Steve Allen, TJ Wilson, Scott Kinge, Adam Selley, Casey Adams, Matt Rose, Mark Taylor

Corner count was 8-3 to Perranwell, 6-2 1st half.

Head count was 31 plus some youngsters
