Millbrook also had a player sent off.An entertaining game with both sides getting the point needed to not finish bottom of the league (without knowing the Perranporth score at the time)A few ground-hoppers in attendance who enjoyed the match. leedsunited Posted April 12, 2015 Report Share Posted April 12, 2015 Routine wins by most of the home sides. Except at Edge Down, hard place to play & agreat hardworking 3pts achieved. Big gap at both ends of table now, top 5 pulling right away (saltash, St.austell, bodmin, Ivy & Parkway). Sticker took the lead but Helston replied immediately and went into the break 2-1, second half was poor, just a battle! 3 big points for us, good luck to sticker for their last league game and cup semi final. Good bunch of lads 👍Not helped either by a strong breeze going right down the pitch blowing from the town end.Sticker's Jack Bowyer had a golden chance to pull it back to 2-2 towards the end , but decided to cut back inside the defender and advancing keeper and delayed any chance of getting a clean effort on goal.Have to say though that it was good to see Helston trying to play it out from the back. Over playing at the back, yesterday the defence didn't take as many chances, if we were under pressure the ball was pumped away from danger, not the prettiest, but when bowyer is chasing down every ball with his pace, we had no choice.. Soulman Posted April 13, 2015 Report Share Posted April 13, 2015 St Austell 3 v Falmouth Town 1. The first half saw Falmouth unsettle St Austell when Glen Squires scored for Falmouth. St Austell were fortunate to draw level before the interval with a Falmouth own Goal. The second half saw St Austell take the lead when a fortunate deflection allowed Olly Brokenshire to fire home. Falmouth were unlucky not to draw level as Squires saw his volley come back off the crossbar but it was St Austell who went on to take all 3 points and another step closer to the Premier Division Title when Harry Evans headed home from close range.
