Division 3

Cornish New Boys 17 Ludgvan Res. 0 (h/t 11-0)

Great credit for a heavily depleted Ludgvan, who never stopped battling despite at one stage only having 9 players :clapper:

New Boys at times played fluent, free-flowing football, with Ryan Hooper leading the line excellently, scoring 6 first half goals!

A decent all round performance for Cornish :c: who now go into a two week break with 4 wins out of 4!

Redruth Utd Res 2 - 2 Newlyn

An understrength Redruth side battled for a well earned draw with several players carrying injuries but Newlyn will probably wonder how they didnt win the game missing a penalty, hitting the crossbar and having a late effort cleared off the line, thank god the mid week games have finished and we have a full week to recover, well done to Newlyn and big thanks to reds manager DT for reffing the game

Div 1

Troon AFC 5-0 TMS

Troon continued there great start to the season with a win over a impressive TMS side.

It took Troon 30 mins to open the scoring from a Scott Grant free kick about 25 yards out, the keeper could not hold it and Clayton Reynolds followed it in and made it 1-0 going into the break.

Troon came out of the changing rooms straight from kick off and were pressing for a second goal but chances were coming thick and fast but Troon were not converting them, TMS had a couple of chances themselves but Danny Mitch in goal was in fine form and kept out any efforts from the TMS forwards.

Troon made it 2-0 when a long ball from Woddy was flicked on by Shane Richards for Jamie Marles to run onto and then cooley chip it over the oncoming keeper. some good defending form the Troon boys didnt allow TMS much at all, and in the 58th min Dave"Dangerous"bartland got brought down in the area for a penalty. Shane Richards stepped up to make it 3-0 no problems.

Then more or less straight from kick off Troon gained possesion and a ball down the wing for Shane was inch perfect, he then crossed for Clayton reynolds to make it 4-0.

Troon were then into cruise control, and could afford to bring on the old boy Reno!! who was looking sharp for a man in his late 50's........!! :yahoo:

but credit where credit is due, good work from Jason smeeth donw the right, followed by a good cross from Stuart Smeeth was met at the far post and Rneo cooley placed it into the net to round off the scoring.(although i think it hit his shinpad....!!).

So 5-0 the final score, All the best to TMS for the season.

Man of the match for Troon was between any of the back 4....good work boys....Troon march on!!! :smiley20:

Halstown 1 Spice 1

Really hard fought game Halstown will probably feel hard done by cos they deserved more than f all but Spice are glad to get this fixture out of the way as it's never easy down there, spice scorers were Brett Adams & Ian Stephens

yes have to agree, gave away two really soft goals, but more diassapointed that ref decided not to give any of three penaltys one a definite handball even spices lino agreed, and why do refs when a foul is blatantly in the box does the ref give a free kick on edge of box not once but twice, again confirmed in the second case by spice lino, good competetive game, put spice under loads off pressure but there keeper was superb also hit bar with last kick off game. score halsetown stu fox

Storm res 1 - Pendeen 3

Storm played excellent football in parts but the bad attitude of many players cost them the game. Giving up is never an option. Their best player was Pendeen's Linesman/Manager!!! Storms reserves pre-season was superb. It's funny how different some players are when you've got to dig in and work to get the ball. Most players blamed the ref but it was definately not him that cost us the game.

Pendeen deserved to win the game. A few of decent players and a team of players that work hard and get behind the ball.

Trevenson Res 1 .v. St. Ives Mariners 5

A very poor Trevenson performance who didn't get out of the changing rooms to be honest. We're still struggling to find the net when chances come and this is proving to be our downfall at the moment. Credit to St. Ives though who played some nice football and were well organised. The promise of a lot of work on the training ground on Wednesday from Trevenson manager Ralph. Trevenson's scorer was Shaun Wilkins from the spot.

Yes, we did wonder... but all credit to Redruth for battling away for a point. Reminded me of last season in reverse, where we somehow drew 3-3 despite deserving to be 6-0 down at half-time. Thanks to Darin for reffing.
