  1. Another entertaining podcast, well done and thanks to all contributors
  2. Sad to hear of Alan's passing 😟 As others have stated, he was rarely wrong, and often forthright with his views, but a great football man all the same. The old school administrators seem to be on the end of a fair amount of flack at the moment, I prefer to be appreciative of all the efforts Alan and co put into local football. RIP Alan
  3. As one of those neutrals who very much enjoyed the game (between two very evenly matched teams), I'm not sure your report paints the full picture of the drama that ensued 🤐 Undoubtedly some very big decisions went against New Inn before their frustrations got the better of them. Very entertaining match though
  4. 😢⚽️ RIP Harry....and thanks for the goals ❤️🙏 Harry Knowles - the star of Worcester City's famous 1959 FA Cup run when they beat Liverpool - has died aged 87. Fans voted "Knowles for goals" the clubs greatest ever player in 2003. A former St Just player too I believe... Anybody from the club, or those he might have faced have any memories of Harry...? It's obviously a fair while ago now, late 60s into 70s. Before he then went on to become a very successful angler Funeral service at Camborne Crematorium, Wednesday 5th February 11am
  5. Dangerous Dave injured his back on the stroke of half time. He lay prostrate on the pitch until an ambulance arrived. 0-1 to Troon Res at the time
  6. Last weekend Jon Moss refereed Leicester City vs West Ham United, and went on to kop an awful lot of criticism for his performance, including being labelled as 'totally inconsistent' by former ref Mark Halsey. Yet Jamie Carragher, reviewing the game on Monday Night Football, said Moss got 'every big call correct'! If two football professionals have such wildly varying views on a referees performance..... It's impossible to please everyone, as we all have different opinions, beliefs and experience. As you've eluded to, criticism is healthy. Everyone has the right to an opinion. I just wouldn't feel the need to defend myself on social media after any negative remarks you'll be on here even more else! Great work on helping to recruit more refs into local football
  7. http://www.leisureleagues.net/uk/england/devon-and-cornwall.aspx Currently expanding to 2 divisions of 10 sides We play all year round.....no matter the weather
  8. Totally agree Nige, Colin is an excellent ref and a top chap off the pitch, too
  9. The majority of referee's assistants at junior level are now substitute's who, in my experience, are reluctant participants! With this tweaking of the offside rule, I think we are in for some varied interpretations this season, as your experience with the Four Lanes representative suggests, Dave.....
  10. Not the best of games, Dave! Referee wasn't very popular with Marazion players in first match, and chances were at a premium in the second! Think Wendron 3rds and Trispen just about deserved to progress in their relative cups
  11. Both played at Illogan. Percy Stephens Trevenson 0 Trispen 1 AET Arthur Pearce Wendron United 3rds 1 Marazion Res 0
