Arlen
CTB I doubt that Falmouth or Porthleven will have first teamers in tonight,...Falmouth 1st team playing tonight themselves and Porthleven 1st have a cup semi-final tomorrow night. Guest Jim
St Day 1-3 Perranporth Bridger 2 Williams (pen) for Perran Two cracking goals by Lewis Bridger, the first a volley hit first time from a deep cross from Tom Byrne after a good Perran move - definite contender for Perranporth's goal of the season. His second goal was lobbing the keeper from 30-40 yards (difficult to judge the distance from the other goal!). In between was a penalty converted by skipper Jonny Williams, after Simon Jones had been tripped. Perran were average in the first half going in one down, but a change of formation paid dividends, and resulted in a much better second half performance. jollyman
Newquay 2 v Culdrose 1 A crowd of perhaps 45 (thats for CTB's stats) Newquay were lucky. We went behind midway through the second half and then Culdrose grew in confidence and strung together their best few passages of play as they got confident. But then Andy Morris scrambled home the Peppermints equaliser before Newquay twice missed a retaken penalty and Culdrose had a man sent off (last man and had to go). Newquay piled on the pressure and Morris looped in an unlikely winner from long range. This was very harsh on a battling Culdrose side. It is a sign of progress that we can now play badly and still pick up points. Thats nine wins and a draw from the last 12 games. As per the hot topic of the evening....we did not use first team players and instead rotated the reserves squad to freshen thuings up. Culdrose will be shaking their heads all the way home. They were unlucky.

Weeman
Hayle res 1-2 Penryn res S Bevis for Hayle Moyle Doughnut for Penryn Penryn went ahead in the 30th minnute a through ball cought us out trying to play offside and not getting it right. We got the equaliser just a couple of minnutes later a good 1-2 between K Toms and S Bevis who struck the ball from edge of 18 yard box into bottom corner 1-1. Thought it would stay that way for halftime but we messed up again trying to play offside the ball was knocked across goal and our player ended up putting it in his own net but im happy to go with previous post and give it to Penryn player as it was going in anyway, 1-2 at halftime. There were chances in the second half for both sides to score but poor finnishing and good goalkeeping kept the score at 1-2 and 3 points for Penryn well done to them they played good football and the game was played in sporting manner by both teams. Truro away Saturday that should be easy !dont think so!.

SpongeBobSafeHands
yeah well done to perran.!! jim you made some good saves bud. only one thing i would like to add is that yes i got lobbed from 30 yards but it was a poor back pass from one of the defenders (not mentioning names willy) that caught me 25 yds off my line. credit where credit is due it was a good finish and i told him so. perrans first goal was a great strike from just inside the box. and good bit of banter from the 12yr old lad who always has a few chioce words for me. is he like that with all opposing teams or is it just us. :(
Guest Jim
Nice report Jim but you forgot to mention some cracking saves by yourself (I won't mention the one you let in - oops! ) Hope you're feeling better soon matey (as long as it's before Saturday afternoon!! ) I not too fussed about the one I conceded, put it down to bad luck really - made the initial save from point blank range, only to then lose sight of the ball and rediscover its location just as it trickled over the line!!! Feeling slightly better today, hopefully will have shaken it off completely come Saturday. The paracetamol at half time did the job - wish I took some before the match started, it was getting to the point where I was struggling to focus on the ball! and good bit of banter from the 12yr old lad who always has a few chioce words for me. is he like that with all opposing teams or is it just us. Don't worry its not just you! He must be the most infamous ball boy in Cornwall!
SpongeBobSafeHands
would also like to add that the game was very well reffed by soccer folower. i would have done a report but jim beat me to it. ref watch. as always with soccer follower, gave a solid performance, dealt with every situation well, one of the better referees around, keep it up soccer follower.
Kappa
Have to agree there Bob, Soccer Follower put in a very good performance (even allowed me to question a couple of decisions at half time and gave me a satisfactory explanation) If only every ref exihibited clarity in their dealings with players and managers ! Bob, you forgot to mention your kung fu clearance from Gareths back pass ! must admit it made me chuckle... A great second half for Perran, Lewis Bridger seems to be settling in well and is starting to make a name for himself, good with both feet and tireless work rate, scored 2 very good goals. Good luck for the rest of the season
SpongeBobSafeHands
yeah forgot about that kung-fu type clearance. have to agree perran were the better team in the second half, we did an arsenal and couldn't hold onto our lead. with all the rumours going around it will be an interesting tie next season kappa, great to see clubs with a bit of ambition and backing, see you soon matey. :clapper:
Guest Postie Pidge
Soccer Follower is a legend!! Bobby Bryant had the Falmouth goal. Heard a rumour that Porthleven signed James Miller on 20 minutes before the kick off?? The transfer deadline has passed so how can this be possible? Guest Urban Spaceman
the deadline is also for signing on players therefore he would be ineligible wudnt he? wait remembering isaac rosenburg-porthleven+vidal james=combination league chairman

Guest Helston Patriot
Thought james miller played for port 1st team? if so then surely it doesn't matter as he only had to sign forms for combo (within same club). or am i completely off the mark? Also Eddy Dunn (EddyD) who had to go off for us midway through first half (clash of heads) is now in the hospital waiting to see an eye specialist. Suffering from mild concussion and has had plenty of sickness. Ed lost vision in his left eye last night but it has gradually returned but quite blurred. cornishteddyboy
Even though the transfer deadline has passed you can still sign players if you can prove to the league that you have a genuine need such as a severe bout of flu has rendered most your squad unfit and you cannot fulfill a fixture otherwise. It is up to the leagues discrestion if they agree.

kevin richards
PORTHLEVEN 1 FALMOUTH TOWN 1 Good attacking game of football from both sides, chances at both ends & both keepers in good form. Bobby Bryant scoring with a shot that took a huge deflection over Mark Thomas & Port squaring things up in the last minute through Reg Pearson. Draw, in my opinion, a fair result. James Miller was signed & the forms into John Roberts before kick off. As you can still sign players ( not transfer ) at this stage of the season, everything was above board. James played for the reserves last night because he is cup tied for the semi final tonight. Well done to Bryn & good luck to Falmouth for the rest of the season. :clapper:
Guest Monty
totally agree with you Kev on your match report, Its just a real shame that we seem to miss big players at the wrong time i guess its just the rub of the green especially when potentially you have a very good squad. Likewise for yourself, Nice for me personally to be back playing well again. Sorry i did not get in for pint after the game but im sure there will always be next season. :c:

Guest Monty
Good day Flipper, Tom is still with us and trains with myself and travels to the game and warms up with myself, Tom is good keeper but as with any team selection its totally down to the Gaffer(Bryn). I only concerntrate on training hard and playing well. Its just nice to be back playing well as i said before as this season was nearly my last.
