Yes Dave Mousehole beaten 5.0 at Trungle Park by an excellent Salisbury team, Salisbury played some great football and conducted themselves very well during the game where the result was never in doubt once they had gone 2.0 up in the first fifteen mins, the seagulls had a few moments in the game but nothing really clear cut so hard to get a foothole in the game. decent gate of 267 and very well officiated by the three in the middle we where never really at our level yesterday and the visitors seemed way above a step three side. Well done all, dust down and move on the the FA trophy next week

WSM 2 City 0 Match Observations.

The better side won - as straight forward as that. The White Tigers seemed to lack the enthusiasm and intensity evident in their league games. City just were not on it at any point. That errors at the back contributed to WSM being two in front in the first quarter of the tie. Although City improved second half the home 'keeper didn't have a serious save to make during the  whole game, whilst the Seagulls had a headed goal chalked off and Hammon made a good  low save to deny the WSM attacker. Rocky Neal came closest for City with a chance he might normally put away.

Unfortunately Paul Wooton doesn't seem to care much for cup competitions. Does this  attitude transmit to the players? Three wins could have generated money and publicity for the club and maybe  a tie versus the likes of Direby County. I expect a similarly lame effort when the FA Trophy comes around.  Surely income generation and profile building a very good thing as the club hope to reignite support with a return to Cornwall pending?

All that said. still had a top day out and a good time with some new City acquaintances! Those two pint jugs helpful in taking your mind of a game City never really got a foothold in!! In truth I didn't think WSM were that good themselves. I think the same opponents might see a different Truro performance next week in the league.

Not much of a report, but not a whole lot to say about a bad day at the office!

Yep it’s all about having no squad depth at the moment. Think there were two strikers on the bench and nothing else. New player straight in at right back. Sully didn’t look fit. Lawsy isn’t a left winger/inside forward had a poor game.

Sam Sanders must be kept - he’s brilliant. Adam Porter is such a nice little footballer as well.

Given how stretched the squad is, really surprised that Shane White was allowed to leave (although not much you can do if a player wants to go).

Truro are not even a quarter into a long, hard NLS season, do worry that having such a small squad will start to bite soon. Can see why some believe an early exit from both the FA Cup and Trophy may be a blessing in the long term, but perhaps the extra revenue could have been used for player additions.

Right on both counts!

Never took you as someone who would post such childish comments like above. I’m flabbergasted that you would take the name of the once mighty, founder members of the football league, former league champions, kings of the East Midlands, a team whom would now be known as Former European Cup Winners Derby County, rather then that red mob you follow, had it not been for the stubbornness of the club chairman and the wonderful Mr Clough jumping ship and taking one or two players with him.
You’ve spoilt what was an excellent post with such pettiness. Disappointed 😉😂

Jam Tart ...... I even like Hearts more than Derby 😉 Lots of might have beens always from the League 1 stragglers. TBF I was wanting three Truro wins and a visit to the Sheep Dip in FA Cup R1 Joking aside Sam Longson made one huge mistake in letting Clough AND Taylor go -  these two always better together. The only pair that unites both Reds and Rams fans!! Ironically, for all the joshing and bluster, both teams and Leicester have similar fan bases and short periods of outstanding success and plenty of grim times too.

Read Pat Murphy's excellent biography of Brian Clough many years ago. Have to say, it did almost feel like Clough was daring Sam Longson (the Derby chair) at times with some of antics, comments and unauthorised spending in the transfer market (attempting to bring Bobby Moore to the club for example, and the farce of parading Ian Storey-Moore at a home match before the deal had been completed).

The post Clough, Dave MacKay era does seem to get forgotten. He guided the Rams to the League Title in 1975, then narrowly succumbed to Real Madrid in the European Cup the next season winning 4-1 at the Baseball Ground (Mackay signing Charlie George getting a hat trick) before dramatically losing 5-1 in front of 120,000 at the Bernabeu in the second leg.
