Full-time players registered!

Recommended Posts

With the news this morning that the Perranwell Reserves match at Penzance is off due to they can’t raise a team, surely the time has come to ask all clubs to “spring-clean” their Players list on Full-time?

Perranwell Reserves have 70 players showing. And they can’t raise a team! What’s that all about?

There are no cancellations of registration permitted so any player signed on this season will appear on that list. This does not roll over from previous seasons. Those 70 will have been submitted to the league this season.

Unfortunately both sides had players pull out late Friday night and also Saturday morning and afternoon due to injuries and family reasons

By the time the managers and others were ringing to get hold of other players it was to late as other registered players already had plans with family or work, Teams are posted Thursday evenings to give players time to.sort something for themselves.

Never heard so much bo**ocks 70 players signed in and can’t put 11 players on the pitch. Gone of the days where football on a Saturday was the most important part of the weekend.

Jesus, do people think that club lie & get games called off for the sake of it? Not only is it embarrassing to call off a game but it also costs the club money, as well as losing the points.

I have been manager of a club that had to call games off & its not a nice feeling & not something you do if you have enough players. Players are as reliable as they were 20/30 years ago, it wouldn't matter if they had 200 signed on, if players make themselves unavailable what are the managers meant to do?

Perranwell is a great club, I know the men involved with both the 1st & 2nd team & they all put in so much work on & off the field, this includes running the bar, sorting the pitch, cooking food, washing kit etc. Without these sort of people football would be dead.

Well said Glen!

As a secretary of New Inn Titans. Signing players on isn’t the issue, it’s getting 11-15 available for a Saturday. This could be a number of reasons why you can’t.

Work, Injuries, Family Commitments.

When they sign up, in say June or July, they can’t predict what will be happening in October or January.

Sadly it’s what comes with Junior football. Life happens and commitment to play on a Saturday isn’t as easy as it was.

Like Glen said postponements are embarrassing to make that call, fines occur, it’s not a good feeling, so I doubt any club enjoy, calling games off.

Keep going Perranwell, some great hard working people down there.
