Losty 3 Hollywell and Cubert 0

A proper game of Duchy football high on endeavour with glimpses of quality. The match was well controlled as ever by Phil Volz looking as fit as ever even though he may be a touch passed his prime. Goals from Tom Mileham 2 and Jordan Cummings gave us the victory and credit to H & C who kept going to the end and their right back Liam who never stopped and played superbly well and was my MoM. Good Luck to H&C for the rest of the season and thank you to all involved. Cheers Bill.

Lifton 4-1 st breward

A great game which had a bit of everything except a card.

Both teams started well but lifton took the lead through a 25 yard shot from lb Blair Vanstone, st breward we’re shortly after awarded a penalty and looked to level it but the lifton keeper made a very good save to keep it at 1-0. Lifton started to work the ball around and Lewis halliday was through 1-1 with the keeper and scored his 1st of the day.
St breward then pulled one back with a wicked deflection off of the lifton center half sending the keeper the wrong way. HT 2-1

st breward came out the brighter in the second half and we’re making great opportunities without threatening the lifton ‘keeper.  But it was lifton again that played some good football for halliday to end up 1-1 again and dutifully struck the back of the net.
st breward pushed to get back in the game but it was lifton and halliday again that put the game to bed rounding off his hat trick with another 1-1 through the keepers legs for 4-1.

Would also like to say the game was superbly officiated by the returning Barry Bottrill.

Week st Mary 5 lostwithel res 1

not a good day for us. Didn’t create a lot and didn’t defend that well especially in the 2nd half.
Beaten by the better side much changed since the last fixture especially up front. Some good finishes from WSM against our stand in keeper. Despite the dry weather recently it was a soaking wet surface and was a right mess at the end hopefully WSM will have a few away games to let their pitch recover

much better performance needed next week against a tough st mawgen side

Boscastle res 6 - Gunnislake res 1

Line up: M Seldon, D Hambley, A Tapley, C Crook, J Seldon, B Jarram, R Nute, R Williams, M Parsons, M Jolliffe, T Lyle. Subs: M Heard, A Frost and M Barrett.

Gunnislake took the lead in this fixture with a corner swung in from the left side with their tall central midfielder nodding home from close range. Boscastle settled into things then and equalised with a goal from Jolliffe, his first of the day. A close range swivel shot following a Jarram corner. Boscastle went 2-1 up with another close range effort this time with Lyle finding the net after another Jarram delivery. Half time.

3-1 came a little way through the second half with Jolliffe getting his second. Jason Seldon played a lovely ball through and Jolliffe managed to squeeze the ball past the onrushing keeper. 4-1 was a goal from another Jarram delivery. His 3rd assist of the day with Williams bundling the ball in from all of a yard. Lyle got his second and castles 5th with good work from Jolliffe leaving Lyle a difficult header from 15 yards which he managed to put past the defender on the line after the keeper tried to take the ball past Jolliffe. Finally the 6th goal came in the final minutes with substitute Heard swinging in a corner for other sub Barrett to hook in at the front post for his first goal of the season. Great win today and deserved too. Man of the match. Tim Lyle. Playing up front today and got 2 goals. Fantastic performance and a constant nuisance.

How come you had Phil, Billy? According to Full Time, this fixture had no referee. And PhilV should’ve been at Foxhole vs St Blazey in the ECPL. They played with an agreed neutral which was good to see at least.
