  1. St Mawgan Reserves 4 - Boscastle Reserves 2. Line up: S Dunn, A Hewitt, T Lyle, C Crook, A Williams, D Hambley, R Nute, J Gibson, R Williams, M Parsons, M Jolliffe. Subs: A Tapley, M Heard, G Setiawan. The goals were flowing early in this game with the first attack of the game for St Mawgan resulting in a goal after a fumble from stand in keeper/ manager Scott Dunn. Boscastle managed to get one back after a strong tackle on the half way line by the home centre back, which the referee played advantage on, left Parsons to run away from the defence with a tidy finish past the keeper. St Mawgan scored again from a boscastle corner countering well and a fine strike from 20 yards put them 2-1 up. A third followed before half time with a fine free kick into the top corner from the edge of the area. They continued the scoring in the second half with the home left back driving the ball in after a good move from the home side. boscastle managed a consolation from a corner where the home centre back nodded into his own goal. another tough day and another fixture with no referee unfortunately.
  2. Biscovey 1 - Boscastle 0 Boscastle side: M Seldon, A Hewitt, T Lyle, C Crook, A Tapley, B Jarram, R Williams, R Nute, J Gibson, A Williams, M Parsons. Subs M Heard, G Setiawan, M Barrett. Bad day at the office for Boscastle and to be honest 1-0 flattered us as it could have been so many more. The only goal of the game came early on in the first half with Biscovey attacking down the left side and getting the better of the sliding defender before smashing the ball away. The home side completely dominated the first half and nearly doubled the lead when a goal line clearance from Tapley cannoned against the post. Second half was more of the same with chances flashing past the post and guilt edge chance volleyed straight into the away keepers hands. Boscastle nearly grabbed an unlikely (and undeserved) equaliser in the final 20 minutes with substitute Setiawan taking the ball down, shifting onto his left foot and hit a rasping drive from 20 yards which the keeper got down well to turn behind. One of the very few chances we created on the day and the home side were well deserved winners. Special thanks to the referee. Didn't catch his name but we were not allocated a referee for this fixture and it just so happened he was on the sidelines watching and decided to step in and help. After a hip operation 4 months ago! Had a decent game in there and saved the home manager doing it.
  3. Boscastle Reserves 5 - Week St Mary 1 Line-up - M Seldon, D Hambley, T Lyle, C Crook, A Tapley, B Jarram, R Nute, R Williams, J Gibson, A Williams, M Parsons. Subs - M Barrett, C Bosley and M Heard. Goalscorers - J Gibson, M Parsons (2) A Williams and an OG. The away scorer was J Barriball (p) Another good win for Boscastle continuing the good start to the season. First goal came from a WSM corner with the ball being cleared to A Williams on the left side, turned his man inside his own half and carried the ball all the way down the wing before pulling the ball back to the onrushing Gibson who finished well. Second goal came from a corner on the right side where Lyle met the ball and the ball bounced around off a couple WSM and ended up in the back of the net. A third came shortly after with a neat turn in the midfield and a clipped ball over the top to Parsons who raced away and tucked the ball in. Just before half time WSM were awarded a penalty with the defender pulling the shirt of the away team skipper. Neatly taken pen from Barriball and the first half ended 3-1. Second half started with WSM putting the pressure on to get back into the game but Boscastle managed to hit on the break with another M Parsons goal driven well inside the near post. Last goal came from an A Williams free kick taken from well over 40 yards. A cross that caught the away keeper out. MOTM - Tim Lyle. Good game and well refereed. All the best to WSM for the rest of the season.
