Introduction to Refereeing

An Introduction to Refereeing evening is going ahead this evening at Bodmin HQ and Wendron United Football Club at 7pm. All are welcome to attend.

I do hope they were told always to wear ear plugs so that they don’t hear anything sweary or attempts at intimidation. It does save on all those tiresome red cards and long reports (and I guess a few bruises)!

I did try this with my children when they were little, but they kept taking them out so I could still hear them!

First thing any referee, or potential referee should be told is ......remember to bring their glasses !!!!!

How many prospective referee's  turned up ?

22  Some were under 16 aswell and mainly from St Day Football Club which was fantastic to see. It was refreshing to see a Football Club getting behind what we are trying to achieve.

I believe there was only 4 in attendance at the Bodmin meeting.

It's a shame players who clock up (x) amount of bookings or points for dissent/abusing the officials aren't made to attend to understand what is entailed. It might not change anything but the dire shortage we are suffering is unlikely to get better if no positive action is taken.
