Duchy League Cup Qtr Final

Calstock 1 - 4 St Merryn

Excellent effort from Calstock members to get the pitch fit to play on (just) and thanks to referee Pete Sowden for allowing the match to go ahead.

This game was definitely not as one sided as the score suggest, Division Three side Calstock couldn't find the net often enough on the day despite creating several chances. Both sides did well under difficult conditions and  second division St Merryn will fancy their chances of getting to the final at least.

The visitors first half goals came from Michael Shearer and Lewis Canfield. Kevin Allen put them 3 nil up after the break and Canfield grabbed another later on. Ben Williams replied for Calstock.

Nice pint after in the Tamar Inn (but a bit pricey !!)

Veryan 2 : 2 sticker

Sticker deserved to take all 3 points here but veryan found themselfs 2 up at half time from two penaltys both scored by martyn o'callaghan both won by dan vincent not sure of the sticker scorers but today they put on a good football display and we feel lucky to get a point!!! Not quite at our best recently but we will still keep going!! I can see sticker taking points off teams a really good side!! On to next week!!! Mom dubz for veryan good goalkeeeping display and saving a crucial penalty!!

Reserves Cup : St Minver Res. 1-3 Grampound Res

Terrific win against the Div 3 league leaders and the result never looked in doubt after Grampound took the lead just 3 minutes in wwith a header from Dec Morris.. Grampound's third was scored by veteran 50 year old Mike Bawden who rolled back the years to score a superb third goal with a one-two followed by a sidefoot into the net from 15 yards.! We also put a few quid over the bar at the St Minver club long after their players had all left!
