Bumdingo
Packhorse 2 Downderry 1. Fairly evenly contested game at Blaise Park, the home side could have been a couple of goals to the good but for some errant finishing. Downderry took the lead late in the first half, a driven cross toe poked home, wrong footing our keeper. Second half followed the same pattern but a deserved equaliser came from a 30 yard strike which dipped over the Downderry keeper. The winner came with about 10 minutes to go, having wasted a few chances early on Mark Place had the defence back tracking, opened his body up to bury bottom corner from outside the box. We've been the whipping boys for a few seasons (but enjoyed the ride), with a new management structure in place we hope to convert effort and endeavour into points whilst still retaining the enjoyment of playing vets football. Downderry gave us a good game and as usual were great sports. Next up St Dennis, whilst I'm not sure they'll be quaking in their boots hopefully we can enjoy a evenly contested game of football as well as their hospitality. cornishteddyboy
St Agnes 1-0 PenzanceThe winner, scored in the 8th minute from a glancing header from the 6yd line after a run and cross from the right at the bottom goal. An even first half, second half Pz were the stronger but even if they were playing 24hrs later neither team would add to that score. Attendance of 9 including 4 from Pz. Yes, agree, good game played in the right spirit and great attitudes on the pitch. Long may it continue. MQx
