St Stephen 3 saltash 2

Sloppy start gave the ashes an early 2 nil lead, we bucked up n got level b4 half time n had chances 2 get lots more, scored 10 mins in 2 2nd half n both teams had chances 2 add more.

Saltash had a player sent off after our 3rd goal 4 dissent n more looked like they follow as they gave up n wanted 2 argue with the ref who I thought had a good game n wasn't gonna b bullied by saltashs management, they had a late penalty appeal turned down which some refs wud give n others don't so hard 2 say if it was or wasn't really, all the best 2 the ashes 4 rest of season.

Think Ross Dunn, Kyle wilmott n Craig coad got our goals unsure of saltashs scorers.

Went and watched the Pelynt vs St Columb Major game today as a neutral and was interested in the relegation battle between the 2 sides. Looe 2 - 3 Padstow

top of the table clash. Great dominance by Looe in the early exchanges and had a pretty dramatic finish to the game. Padstow 2-0 down with 12 minutes to go. Kyle Tippett takes a free kick and pings it low and hard into the bottom right. Now Padstow pushing for the equaliser and a cracking cross from Simon Press with Tippett glancing a header over the home goalkeeper. 6 minutes injury time both teams were pushing for the winner. Good positive play by Kevin Allen knock the ball to Tippet who crossed for Sean Blows to get a dramatic headed winner at the back post with literally the last touch of the game. Great effort by both teams and look forward to Looe coming to Padstow

JJ JONES DUCHY FOOTBALL LEAGUE

The top two featured in a fine top of the table Premier Division game which provided a real sting in the tail. Second placed Looe Town were two up through Danny Carroll and James O’Brien after eighty minutes with leaders Padstow facing their first defeat of the season. The visitors staged a superb comeback drawing level and then scoring a winner with virtually the last kick of the match to leave the Looe players devastated. Kyle Tippett scored a brace and Sean Blows one to give Padstow a 3-2 win.

Pelynt put St.Columb Major deeper in trouble after a 4-1 win. Tony Harman scored a brace with Matt Julian with a first of the season and Liam Jones completing the home tally. Ashley Bicknell scored the St.Columb consolation.

North Petherwin and Lostwithiel were poised at two all after eighty minutes of a good game before in a stunning final ten minutes Lostwithiel scored three fine goals to win 5-2. Ben Wilkinson scored a hat trick with Martyn Jones and Josh Cook completing the visitors tally. Jim Werren and Dan Warring scored for Petherwin.

St.Stephen beat Saltash United to maintain their recent good run of form. In a fast pulsating game Saltash came out of the blocks quickly scoring in only 5 minutes when a long ball over the St Stephen defence was collected by Shaun Cleary who ran on and slotted the ball past the diving St Stephen keeper Matthew Grigg. They extended their lead on 7minutes when a cross from the right was headed home by Karl Whitehead from close in. St Stephen pulled a goal back through Ross Dunn on 15 minutes and then it was St Stephens turn to put the pressure on. With 36mins gone Kyle Willmott put St Stephen level from close range and then the game got very physical with tackles flying in all over. The second half was just as physical with a few yellow cards and a red card. St Stephen went in front through Craig Coad who on 52 minutes ran down the left wing and went past two defenders to put the ball into the net past a diving keeper.

Steve Harris scored both goals as St.Mawgan maintained their Division One title challenge with a 2-0 defeat of Biscovey.

Leaders Foxhole maintained their advantage after a 3-0 defeat of AFC Bodmin. A fairly even first half ended with a 42nd minute penalty from which Paul Reed gave Foxhole the lead. Bodmin continued to match their opponents in the second half before in the 63rd minute Aydan Rundle with an overhead kick doubled the lead. Foxhole were a little sharper in front of goal with Rundle getting his second later on.

Edgcumbe and Altarnun shared eight goals in a fine game. Luke Jones scored a brace for Edgcumbe with their other goals coming from Jay Boyle and an own goal. Sam Smith replied with a hat trick for Altarnun with Josh Smith also finding the target.

Grampound were totally outplayed by St.Minver as the visitors ran out 5-0 winners. The home side were two down in ten minutes and never recovered against their high-flying opponents.

Premier Sixes went down 6-4 at home to LC Phoenix in an extra-ordinary game. The hosts were three down in ten minutes through a Steve Capeling own goal a Josh Barron penalty and another Barron goal. Barron completed his hat trick and Nathan Cox scored another goal as the visitors stretched their lead to five. Dan Woodgate pulled a goal back before half time, but by now the hosts were down to ten men as their bare squad was hit by further injuries. Darren Webber scored after half time for Phoenix but instead of the expected rout at this time back came Sixes with Woodgate, Martyn Probert and Capeling reducing the deficit.

St.Dennis remain unbeaten at the top of Division Two after beating one of their main rivals Sticker 2-1. St.Dennis scored through Paul Rowe and Dave Cloke with Adam Cleaves replying.

Gunnislake moved fourth after their 4-1 defeat of Lifton. The hosts scored through Neil Kinger, Kieran Jasper, Matt Avery and an own goal with Anthony Coles replying for Lifton.

These are difficult times at St.Neot with the club in the process of rebuilding their squad. They went down to a 6-0 home defeat to North Hill where Dan Gregory hit a hat trick. The visitors other goals came from Ryan Brown, Jason Ridgment and an own goal.

A badly depleted Gerrans & St.Mawes United side limped their way to Callington Town to fulfil the fixture and returned home with a 6-0 beating but credit to them for going ahead with the game. Kevin Pethick hit a hat trick with Kieran Prescott adding a brace and Wayne Stephens completing the scoring for a very good home team.

Lanivet Inn beat Grampound reserves 3-1 in Division Three in a dominant display. Shane Looker gave them a lead after five minutes to put them on the front foot. There was no further scoring before half time, but a Sam Goodswen header from a corner doubled the lead after the restart. Looker scored his second before Grampound pulled one back five minutes from time through Matt Skews.

Boscastle had another win beating St.Stephen reserves 4-2. Dan Capstick, Sam Capstick, Sam Haddy and Jordan Sleep scored for Boscastle with Curtis Daly and Anouar Jamai replying.

Mike Brennan scored a hat trick for Gorran but visitors Tintagel took the spoils with a 7-3 win. Shaun Keeble also hit a hat for Tintagel with Adam Price, Ollie Price, James Cowling and a Dave Podd own goal in a rather physical game.

Veryan remain in control of the division after a 3-0 win at Queens Rangers.

St.Merryn leave Lanreath pointless at the bottom of Division Four after their 6-3 win. One of five games that went ahead with unofficial referee’s after shortages owing to Cornwall Senior Cup ties St.Merryn edged a good sporting contest. Josh Dark and Richard Hughes scored a brace apiece with Rob Centini and Mike Shearer completing the St.Merryn scoring. Lanreath replied with a Calvin Powell own goal and a James Barrett brace.

Tregrehan Mills travelled to Southgate Seniors and secured a 1-0 win through a Sam Rowse goal.

A disappointing home defeat for High Street as Mevagissey won 4-2. Chris Sullivan and Jake Mansell scored for High Street but the visitors move into the top half after goals from Paddy Crowle, Bruce Campbell and a Krzysztop Kruszewski brace on his debut for the club.

Pensilva frustrated Division Five leaders Kilkhampton for half an hour before the hosts got on top and ran out 6-0 winners. Goals from Matty Jones, Calvin Parnell, Tom Shadrick (2), Luke Smith and Nicky Westlake retained Kilk’s 100 percent league record.

Roche consolidated second place winning their derby with St.Dennis reserves 2-1. Roche made a bright start and went ahead when Aaron Honey fired home after dribbling through. The game was fast paced and both sides were full of commitment. There were chances at both ends but some good defending ensured the score was 1-0 at the break. The second half began as the first had left off and Roche stretched their lead when Ben Lawrence finished off good work from Gareth Geach. Roche failed to add a third and when St Dennis forward Stuart Bell rounded the keeper and lifted the ball over the last defender into the net they pushed for an equaliser. There was a tense ending but Roche held out for the win.

Saltash United reserves beat Boscastle reserves 3-0 in the game refereed by the Boscastle manager. Curtis Lanfear, Lewis Anderson-Smith and Ashley Hooper were the home marksmen.

Padstow United reserves were up against it in the first half as St.Teath controlled their game. Steve Field with a first goal of the season gave the visitors a tenth minute lead and Padstow were very lucky to go into the break just one down. Some changes at half time turned the games on its head as spurred on by new signing Stephen O’Flynn Padstow controlled the second half. Danny O’Flynn equalised and then scored a second in the 65th minute to give Padstow the lead. The home side stayed in control but were hit by an equaliser three minutes from time from Nathan Gessex as the game ended two all.

Week St.Mary and St.Mawgan reserves fought out a two all draw. Rob Pearce scored a brace for the home team with Lee Gallagher and Luke Haynes replying to give St.Mawgan a precious point.

Curious why a 'neutral' would be 'interested' in this particular game Big_baller. Were you simply passing by? I understand that St Columb had more players carded so clearly the referee you think handled the game well didn't agree with you as to who were the main culprits! Sure Pelynt will be disappointed to hear that they are in a relegation battle given that they sit fourth in the table. You don't appear to be great with facts.

You didn't mention the result but I believe that Pelynt won 4-1 and that no St Columb players had the decency to turn up at their Club for the food prepared for them. Now that's embarrassing!

Padstow vs St teath the match report has also forgot to say that they changed the game by bringing in a wadebridge 1st team player but sounded like we should have been out of site before that anyway but it's a shame that a peninsula player is playing duchy 5

Who was the peninsula player?? Pretty sure the manager didn't get anyone in. Especially not a player who isn't regularly playing for them.
