  4. This happened to us.. Player in question had been at the club for 4 years, named on the team sheet, match was even filmed and he came on for 5 minutes after return from a lengthy injury. No intent to cheat and a completely honest mistake, however 3 points deducted. I believe an appeal wouldn't be of use as 'rules are rules' in this case unfortunately.
  5. Ref was Gary Cornish, certainly the best ref I've encountered. Thanks for the game today, was thoroughly enjoyable and as you said, played in the right spirit. Hope you gents have a successful season.
  6. The referee room is currently under construction as I type. The changing bench and plumbing have been installed just needs finishing off.
  7. Shaun Heywood for St Minver reserves is 51 and playing 90 minutes every week!
  8. I've been browsing the "Rules of the Game" rulebook and referee handbook... Information I found is that a referee must take down the players name, number and club. this is then to be submitted by the appropriate action. My interpretation is that as long as there is a last name and club, the player can be found. Unless he has given a wrong name or there is more than one player with that surname. Personally, not giving your full name when cautioned/sent off is rather childish in my eyes. Hopefully an qualified ref can answer this for you Dangerous, Thank you for your time. Having spoken to the ref he admitted no foul language or behaviour was used, he was just following the letter of the law as our player had not stated his full name.
  9. Can a referee reading this please clarify this rule if possible? If a player is asked for his name, to be issued a caution, it is a red card offence if the player in question only responds stating their second name?
