  1. Saw 2 halves of 2 Duchy league 1 games today, firstly at Lifton v St Merryn in a tight battle in tricky conditions, a real moment of class, a cross that was converted to put home side 2 ahead. Then popped to Altarnun v Boscastle for second half that was well matched, and greatly battled, it looked like it was to be shared until a crazy finish, 25yd screamer from Altanun striker for a goal from thr very top drawer. Nice
  2. North Petherwin offer a friendly on Saturday due to opposition cancelling. Ref sorted and even pub after ready to accommodate. If you fancy it, please call manager Darren Samways 07550077098
  3. Best wishes to Brian, thanks Paul. All clubs too, best of luck.
  4. No secret at North Petherwin FC we were delighted to get to ecpl but alas it might've been a step too far. We had enough for 2 sides and very good players but for many and various reasons a few key players departed (the draw of other teams higher up and players rightly ambitious in the main) we were struggling. We are still in the position of having 2 teams but with maybe not the same potency.... early days to really tell, but we are weighing up options and sounded out ideas of how next season might look, and asked for feasable alternatives/ available option for our committee to decide upon
  5. North petherwin now also off, we moved it to 3g but launceston college cancelled us quite rightly on safety reasons. Bit gutted as we wanted to play after not fielding a side last week and wanted to prove to the league and ourselves that it was a 1off week. We will fight on, whatever it takes Cheers all
  6. Yes it's desperate at the moment, club volunteers are literally getting stomach ulcers ringing and messaging every minute to try and make it work. This weekend was exceptionally low as 5 regulars were injured/ holiday/ seasonal working, but it's a 1st time for us and it feels sickening.
  7. Gerrans 0-0 Nth Petherwin Might sound dull, but was a good watch, real even contest, well referreed, for a long journey down was will worth it, nice pub after, good friendly bunch, top day
  8. Yes game went ahead, will reffed by Mr Cackett, couple from the league amongst the many that watched a decent match. Really tight 1st half with Blazey scoring a lovely finish, equalled with Will Green for the badgers. Second half saw 3 quick goals that killed the tie, and Petherwin ran out winners. Hat-trick for Green, penalty covered by captain Greg Hutchings a brace for sub Mark Elvidge and late one for Noah Reeve. 7-1 ft result.
  9. Round 2 saw North Petherwin host the long distance visitors from St Ives Town and it was a really well contested affair. The travelling team eventually ran out with a comfortable 1-5 win but the score-line doesn't tell the full tale as it was a close tie up until the final 15 minutes. After going in half time 1-2 down the Badgers rallied well and gave St Ives plenty to deal with. The game was well officiated by Allen Johns and there was some good support all the way from West Cornwall that would definitely enjoy the bus trip back. The St Ives scorers on the day were Ross Duncan x2, Josh Magin,
  10. Yes, it did put a dampener on a very nice afternoon (of which was very damp)-
