Great three points down at Lawfrowda today. Nice to see Rodney bless us with an appearance, and grateful he didn't run the line.

The Tinners opened the scoring through a moment of pure quality when Neil Curnow picked the ball up just inside our half and with an almighty swing of his boot that sent the ball into the top corner of the net. I'm pretty sure he ws trying to hit the kids that were playing Wembley singles behind the goal. The ref even stopped our game to give a penalty to one of the kids then moved them along as they were in his line of vision...

Wendron equalised in the second half with a well taken Ben Allen shiner, then we edged in front after an OG. The scoring concluded when Ed Timmins' cross found the top corner of the St Just goal.

The game fizzled out and Steve Curnow rolled back the years with some nice control, stopping the ball from leaving the field of play when it was going out for a throw.

Great result with 6 players out, gather St Just had a few missing too.

Great hospitality, as usual, after the game.

All the best

Wendron United

Goonhavern 3-1 Hayle (2-0 h/t)

Paul Robertson (x2), including a ping from just inside his own half, and Joe Carlyon scored for Goonhavern.

We were missing a number of key players today but the lads that came in did well especially Joel Ware from our reserves. Wasn't too much quality in the game but I feel we just about deserved the win.

Att. about 25.

Game was well reffed, someone who was approachable and explained all of his decisions.

Holmans sc 0 vs Porthleven 0

attendance 18

todays game was a battle of the bottom 2 with both teams hoping to get 3 points to help them out in their fight for relegation, Holmans started slow and porthleven cranked up the pressure and had a couple shots on goal early on and spent most of the first half camped in the Holmans half, just before half time holmans had one of their first attacks broken up with in the porthleven half and while trying to put pressure on the last defender with the ball charlie tasker accidentally ran through the back of a porthleven player who stepped across and sent him flying in which the port player had a bit of a kick out resulting in him being sent off, personally i would of liked to have seen the ref give him a bollocking as it wasnt that type of game, but following the laws of the game i could see why he did send him,

going in at half time 0-0 we knew we were in the game and where we wanted to be, we pushed in the 2nd half trying to find a winner, jason aguero blight blazed over from a colin wheeler cross and aaron meredith fluffed his chance high and wide after some neat control, following a corner where jason thought he could fly and headbutt the back off aaron the ball some how found its way to paul billings whose snap shot hit thebar and cannoned back out, with the game getting on a bit tasker threw on phil greenlaw who nearly made a instant impact by running onto a paul billings through ball but was unable to round the goalkeeper, After that holmans found themselves more on the back foot and started to rush it a bit. Holmans ended up finishing the game with 10 men aswell when chris minns found himself sent off for a 2nd yellow card in which he had actually won in the ball in the challenge and had set porthleven up for an attack but the referee brought it back and sent him off for a 2nd yellow,

so the game finished 0-0 a clean sheet for me for once but it still felt like a loss at the fact we couldnt create or finish a chance we were so desperately trying to create. oh well, hayle away next week in which should be an interesting game :thumbsup::thumbsup:

St Day 2-1 Mullion

Att - 82

This game was spoilt by the cross pitch wind that blew all game. Very cold conditions meaning only the daft or the committed turned up..

Game kicks off with St Day playing down the pitch. Mostly (well all) St Day for the first 20 mins or so. Mullion playing a "When In Doubt, Kick It Out" game at the back trying to protect the substitute keeper, a young lad from Helston thirds.

Within minutes he is called into action as St Day break left, square for a shot that he parries with his foot away from the bottom of the near post. Again he is in action as a St Day corner sees him tip the ball onto the bar and away.

Against the run of play Mullion break through the middle, on 24 mins, with Rob Carey. He outruns his defender and sidesteps the advancing keeper to put the ball in low from 12 yds, 0-1.

The lead lasts 5 mins before a corner on the St Day left is knocked to the back stick for Mikey Davis who equalizes with a free header from 6yds.

H-T

My report for the second half is a bit stunted as I retreated to the tea hut and got stuck behind a pillar only seeing a limited view.

Mullion come at St Day a bit more this half but attacks in the box are infrequent.

St Day break down the middle, shoot but it goes past the left upright.

58mins and St Day are awarded a penalty for a push on the left-hand side of the box. Chris Tolley steps up, the keeper dives to his left, ball down the middle.

St Day win ball in middle of the Mullion half, shoot, the ball hits the right post, flies along the face of the goal and away.

Tom Hogarth of St Day sent off in 70th minute for 2 yellows followed 3 mins later by Mullion's Scott Jones for his double yellow.

Mullion push forward but instead of spreading the ball to take advantage of the two players missing keep coming down the middle which St Day found easy to cope with.

F-T

Match facts

Corners: St Day 7-5 Mullion

Fouls conceded: St Day 12-9 Mullion
