Truro City 0, Maidenhead United 1

Recommended Posts

Not the performance nor the result wanted against a fellow relegation threatened side!

Could have been so different if Cody Cooke had made more of a very early chance, and then with 11 minutes on the clock, Watkins had his run stopped when just outside the opponents penalty area.

Definite infringement but not a deliberate foul, yellow or red card for the big central defender?

Referee went for yellow.

Maidenhead missed the better chances. The goal came from Alex Wall 6 minutes after the break, he made up for a golden opportunity he fluffed shortly before half time!

I took two of the P6FC squad as we had no game today (It was also Josh Mitchell's first ever visit to a football match where he had to pay to get in - therefore first ever 'proper' football match hahaha). Decent entertainment when you have no match. £2 pints even better. Probably be most of the squad + extras going for the game on the 29th. Truro looked fairly solid, although the right back Hopkinson did all the simple stuff you expect at this level there was little else to him and he stood out as a weak point in the team. He is no Ben Williams the left back that's for sure. McCormick pulled off a worldy late in the game to keep it at 1-0. Some absolute giants in the Maidenhead team, their captain resembled a heavyweight boxer. Their GK was also the Finland U21 GK on loan from Fulham.
